Type 1: (AW11)
If the car didn't live in a sunny state, expect to find rust.
The handling of the type 1 is the best of the 3 types.
You need an expert when buying one, and an expert to keep it rolling if you have cooling problems with it.
Type 2: (SW20/SW22/Turbo/...)
This type doesn't have the best handling of the 3.
Rust isn't yet a (big) problem with this type.
This type is sometimes called a 'mini Ferrari' (because of it's shape).
Type 3:
Most of them will be too young to have rust problems.
Handling is between type 1 and 2.
Technically, this will be the best. Generally, Toyota's are more reliable then American cars (but you always have exceptions).
If you can find a type 1 without rust and technical (cooling: take a LONG testdrive!! If they don't allow you to do that, DO NOT buy a type 1) problems, go for that one. Otherwise, go for the type you'd like most or which you can afford.
If you need more performance, go for a Lotus Elise.

Toyota doesn't make a bad car. No bull.
I've had six and loved them all. I'd never buy another brand.....and I've also owned 2-Fords, 2-Chevy's 2-Volkswagens and even an MG.
Ya can't beat Toyota for quality and dependability.

they are slightly to handle on snow, and consistent with probability even rain. The rain dealing with will require some severe priced treads. i do no longer think of that there are any sturdy snow shoes for it. residing with one is like residing with the different vehicle of Lotus origins (i think of Lotus had a brilliant hand interior the layout). while you're occurring a protracted holiday, do no longer plan on taking lots bags with you. Be arranged for each youthful punk in a Honda to think of they might tutor you up. study to perceive the sleepers (like an SHO) to maintain you from being confirmed up. Me, i'm going to stay with a Miata (purely as lots exciting for fewer dollars and not as lots harassment from the law enforcement officers).
