Standing still is a lot better than dead, which is what you may be if shipped to the middle east. Re-think your options . . . you probably have more than you think.

Good luck with your decision.

The army is a scary place. All those Go! Army commercials may look real nice and glamorous, but what you see there will probably leave a scar on you for the rest of yoru life. And not a literal scar like a scab or anything. Just ask someone you know who's been there and seen what goes on... it's not something you should do for the heck of it. Really think hard.

However, despite the arguments of the war in Iraq and the justifiable reasoning’s of us being over there. Joining the army will be the best decision and the worst at the same time. It will help you see for yourself what you can do. The downside it that it will take you away from your family. There is a chance that you will get killed, but that happens every day. When it is your time, it is your time to go.

My personal advice. I joined 1 week ago. Started talking to my recruiter about a month ago. I was a highschool drop out with no GED. Within two days of talking to him I had it. They go the extra mile to help you out of whatever situation you are in. I sat on my a ss for a year and im definately glad I got up and joined. College, skilled trade, anything is possible in the Armed Services. Definately the best choice ive made in a while.

Are you qualified to join the service? If so, then you are probably qualified to join any service. I would start looking into each one to see what best fits you. Everyone thinks the Army is taking whomever shows up but they are just as hard to get in to as the Navy/Air Force.

The military can provide you with a wonderful opportunity for growth potential. It can serve to provide you with life lessons such as responsibility, dignity and loyalty to one's country. In addition to these personal benefits, you can learn a trade, earn money for college, and gain wonderful life experience in addition to traveling through out the US and world. If you are serious about this decision, speak to your parents or guardians and then go talk to all of the military recruiters to see what branch would be best for you and what type of benefits they could provide. Good Luck!

If you want to go and fight for your country, I think that`s great, but I wouldn`t go over there calling yourself bubbly toes, some soldiers might take that the wrong way, if you know what I mean.
