The Pope is not and never has been a Nazi. He unfortunately was born and grew up in a country ruled by the Nazi party.
Do you think that every draftee in the Nazi German Army was a Nazi? If you do then you are very naive.
Just hope and pray that you do not have to make a decision to be executed or live and fight for a government in which you do not believe.
I know of some US soldiers that joined up eagerly to fight in Afghanistan after the World Trade Center attack in what they considered a just war. But now they have to fight in Iraq, a war that they do not think is just.
You and I live in a very different world that the Pope did in 1930s and 1940s Germany. I suggest you do not be so quick to judge others.
With love in Christ.

You're an ill-informed moron who doesn't deserve to be taken seriously. The young Joseph Ratzinger was declared to be a member of the Hitler Youth as were all Germans when they reached a certain age. Near the end of the war, as a teenager, he was drafted into the armed forces to man an anti-aircraft gun, but was so uncommitted to his country's cause that he went AWOL. He is not and was never a Nazi.
Your keeper shouold ensure you grow up a little more before you're allowed near a computer again.

Most of the answers to this childish question border on the obscene.
The real truth is that the Pope was only a boy during WWII, inducted into the Hitler Youth, for not to join would have marked him out as 'an enemy of the State'.
He was never a Nazi, and I'm amazed that one of your respondents even claim His Holiness was a member of Hitler's inner circle!
The mind boggles.
I am not a Catholic, but I believe in Christian principals, sadly lacking on this page.

I think that although he may have been part of the nazi army, he didn´t believe in its ideals. Many young men were drafted into the nazis forefully, with their lives being threatened if they refused to join. Ok, nobody´s perfect but I doubt the Pope shared the same ideals as Hitler.
P.S. I am not a Catholic.

Catholics are not 'blind in their faith' but we respect our leader. I think you are a bit confused. If you wish to talk about those who are blind in their faith why not talk about those who murdered an innocent nun in retaliation for a speech which they were too stupid to comprehend. You only attack Catholics because we are an easy target. Yahoo removes questions which insult Muslims, but Catholics are fair game.
I am proud to belong to the one true fold and am not going to let the opinion of someone like you bother me.

The pope, or bishop of Roma, as I prefer to call him, was a member of the Hitler Youth and is therefore a Nazi. Heil Pope.

He was, like a lot of Germans - the Movie in question is the Usual Suspects.
As the Lords Prayer says "Father - lead us not into temptation", therefore God may lead us into temptation - its up to to us not to follow God sometimes...

What is your reason to say the pope is a nazi? I don't really like catholicism, but the pope isn't that bad of a guy. Are you calling him that because he is German? Why do you hate catholics so much? You seem to be a sick person who is full of hate.
