So often it appears that this is the one issue that they are not prepared to amend their scripture for...divorce, usury, etc now all fine and sorted.
There is nothing very traditional about the traditionalist's at all...least of all the quoting of scripture by ordinary lay people to back up their prejudices...this would never have happened in the past and is very modern.
Excluding people from the church and actively working against the equal treatment of fellow citizens does not seem a Christian or moral activity in any way whatsoever and nowhere in the Bible does it state that it requires anyone to do this.

The bible is also quite clear that marriage is not to be set aside. Yet 50% of Christian marriages are set aside. Why doesn't this upset Christians? All those divorced Christians are going straight to Hell. They have ruined the concept of marriage and destroyed its sanctity. The gays could not even come close to being such dreadful sinners.
There are peoples in the world today who accept homosexuals as equal human beings - these peoples have open hearts and minds, and are not afraid of sex or their own secret fantasies.
I mention this only to show that there is more than one choice of attitude to adopt. Yes, hatred is a conscious choice, and if your gods exist, they will deal with haters at the judgment day.
Here's another attitude one could choose. In other times and places, when a child started to show homosexual behavior, he was welcomed among his people as a special benediction. He it was who healed. He it was who interpreted the omens. He was responsible for the psychological and medical welfare of his people.
There is always more than one view of things. And no one can judge which are right or wrong.

Not without violating the content of their corresponding sacred texts. It would constitute a distortion of what their originating central figures stood for, and would be unfair to the integrity of the system in question.
I suppose this also raises an ethical dilemma. Many have decried Christian missionaries for corrupting native cultures and destroying traditions to be replaced with their own. Does that same modern western way of thinking have the same respect for the major world religions that do regard homosexuality as a genuine sin? What are they doing to preserve that?

Why not allow homosexuals to be ministers/pastors? Is it like there were no homosexuals in religion before? Of course there were, as homosexuals are spiritual people too. Since the bible wasn't sent FedEx from God himself, and people from ancient times wrote it, I believe the Bible to be a good outline for moral behavior, but not the end-all of spirituality.

Nah, Christians have been warping their religion for years. Think of all of the sins listed in the Bible that are not given a second thought. According to the Bible, women should basically be our servants.
Sad but true, and I am sure will be refuted.

Homosexual should be allowed to be preachers. They have their own rights. Of course in the bible says it is wrong. But lets think. Who wrote the bible? God obviously didn't make it. It is just myths and sins in the book telling you from right and wrong. I would say that nothing is wrong with gay people, I have nothing againest them. Really have them have there own rights.

Everyone warps the bible to suit their own needs.
Even the people that wrote it.
Instead of worrying about who's gay or straight, why not worry about the messages they teach?

certain soldiers were dropped off in the middle of the jungle in viet nam. They had their M-16's. So, they were armed and qualified to be there, right? Two weeks later they received their ammunition.

To compromise with sinners brings forth destruction to the body of Christ which is already happening now.

if your religion discriminates against gays, maybe you need to find a different religion
if there IS a "creator of the universe" .. do you honestly think he obsesses over people's sex lives?
