No you are dead - gone - or to be more accurate turned off like a lightswitch. What you need to be asking is what is sentience, being self-aware. It maybe that when we understand this, we will be in a better position to explain death. There are certain experiments going on in the scientific at the moment - where animals have been bought back to life many hours after death through a special freezing technique. Our understanding of death may change soon. From what I've heard and read death may well be something that only occurs because we don't know what is not keeping someone alive. Everything in this world is cause and effect. At the moment when someone dies becuase they are old - it is understood it is because they were old and it was their time; but I feel soon we will known why someone has died and what's necessary for them to be made alive again - if this does actually happen or even just the knowledge of how to do this becomes known it will be as signifcant as splitting the atom - you cannot undo knowledge.
This then gives the choice of life once we are here, which is something of an ironical paradox - since we wern't given the choice before we were born !

It is my judgment that any man or woman can do more to conform to the laws of God in one year in this life than they could in ten years when they are dead. The spirit only can repent and change, and then the battle has to go forward with the flesh afterwards. It is much easier to overcome and serve the Lord when both flesh and spirit are combined as one. This is the time when men are more pliable and susceptible. We will find when we are dead every desire, EVERY FEELING WILL BE GREATLY INTENSIFIED. When clay is pliable, it is much easier to change than when it gets hard and sets. (??? The Three Degrees of Glory -Melvin J. Ballard, pp. 11-13)
Do not let any of us imagine that we can go down to the grave not having overcome the corruptions of the flesh and then lose in the grave all our sins and evil tendencies. They will be with us. They will be with the spirit when seperated from the body. - Gordon B. Hinckley
You can progress much more rapidly here on earth with your mortal body in this environment of good and evil than you will as a spirit in the spirit world. - Richard G. Scott (Ensign, May 1997, p.54)

First i ll stay on the ceiling wacthing my dead body ,and then lets say i ll go to heavenly place, i ll enter to a tunnel and at the end of the tunnel there will be a lightfull creature in a flowerfull garden and i will feel very satisfied and knew that he/she is loving me and many shiny souls will be there too and they are sparkling.Ä° ll be unique and the lightfull creature will ask me '' Do you want to return?''Ä° ll say no i want to stay here!So i ll dream about my stripteaser lover and suddenly she will run towards me in white and sparkling way but of course she ll be an angel in her appereance ( not herself-cos she ll burn in hell).Ä°s it enough?

When I'm dead, I think I will feel lonely and scared. I will feel better once I'm cremated and I feel my childrens hands grab my ashes and throw them into the ocean breeze. My soul will finally be at rest. Yep, that's about all I think I'll feel. I hope it's not any time soon.

Uh, you're dead. Like, that's it. You know, nothing. No feelings, no afterlife.
It might be sad to some to hear, but it's the end.
So make sure you do good while you're here!

Nope. I won't know that the worms are munching on me and I won't care. The body is just a vessel.

THE DEAD ARE SILENT
Adam and Eve were created souls, all else are born souls, then resurrected souls.
Luke 8:50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him,
saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
Luke 8:52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said,
Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. Luke 8:54 And he put
them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying,
Maid, arise. Luke 8:55 And her spirit came again,
and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat.
REAL RESURRECTION: 1Cor.15:22 For as in Adam all die,
even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
SPIRIT: Num.16:22 And they fell upon their faces, and said,
O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin,
and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation.
Isa.42:5 Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens,
and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth,
and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath
unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
SPIRIT RETURNS TO GOD:
Eccl.12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as
it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
SPIRIT RETURNS TO RESURRECT THE DEAD:
Psm.104:29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled:
thou takest away their breath,
they die, and return to their dust.
Psm.104:30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created:
and thou renewest the face of the earth. Job 19:25,26; My
flesh will decay, yet in my flesh I shall see God by my
redeemer at the latter day.
DEATH: Psm.49:14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave;
death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have
dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty
shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
DEATH: Psm.146:3 Put not yourtrust in princes,
nor in the son of man,in whom there is no help.
Psm.146:4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth
to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
Psm.115:15 Ye are blessed of the LORD
which made heaven and earth. Psm.115:16 The
heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's:
but the earth hath he given to the children of men.
Psm.115:17 The dead praise not the LORD,
neither any that go down into silence.
EARLY ON EARTH RESURRECTION:
Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the
resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not
left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
Matt.27:52 And the graves were opened; and many
bodies of the saints which slept arose, Matt.27:53;
And came out of the graves after his [Jesus],
resurrection, and went into the holy city, and
appeared unto many.
EARLY HEAVENS RESURRECTION:
Rev.6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal,
I saw under the altar the souls of them that
were slain for the word of God, and for the
testimony which they held:
Rev.6:10 And they cried with a loud voice,
saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true,
dost thou not judge and avenge our blood
on them that dwell on the earth?
Rev.6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them;
and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for
a little season, until their fellowservants also and their
brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be
fulfilled. John 6:39,40,44[raised up at last day];
