I think some atheists are more like Jesus than most Christians would like to admit.
Also, despite many Christians' belief, it is not easy to come to an atheistic position, especially after a genuine commitment to Christianity. Such atheists have thought through the issues and sorted through the evidences more thoroughly than most Christians, and have often arrived at a deeper, more content, and more joyful life than when they were Christians.
Christians need to realise this and consider the reasons behind it, but unfortunately many just think atheists lead shallow and meaningless lives. This is simply not the case.

Apostle Paul was perhaps the first one to understand that if Christ never raised from the dead, then their hope for eternal life is lost. Over 18 centuries later, European philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche re-iterated the meaninglessness and purposelessness of life that follows necessarily from God's non-existence. Later during the 20th Century, philosophers such as Camus and Sartre recognized that life is ultimately absurd, but they resorted to fabricating their own meaning.
For many, this more optimistic way of framing life is preferable to facing a universe that could care less if human beings went extinct, but also find it hard to accept that they'd still be basing their entire lives on a lie anyway. I suppose a question might then be... why are some atheists so optimistic even as they look forward to their own extinction? For me, the question is not really intended to be a jab against atheists... i really wonder how they live knowing that all their suffering, the injustice in their lives, and their hurt all amount to --"oh well, that's life, and there's not right or wrong about it"?

I wished you made sense. Atheists know the bible more than some Christians and they know without a doubt that they are going to Hell because they have rejected God. Atheists are the ones who are pessimistic.

well it is because i am assured of knowing where it is im going to live foreever & ever when i die i will be in heaven athiests do not have this assurance nor does anyone else have the assurance when they die if youre not born again you cant rightly say where you go after you die you can think about it read books by ppl about it or have no idea but the simple 100% FACT is this you are either saved -born again or youre not youre either assured that youre going to heaven or your not. Which One Are You?? When you stand before GOD what argument are you going to give Him why you shouldnt be going to hell?? it wont work GOD IS A HOLY GOD you will be silent that day & forever seperate from your Creator & you send yourself to hell by rejecting & refusing GODS FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE GIFT of escape

do you know how many stars are there in the universe .. how many atoms are there .. for what reason all of these .. for nothing .. you may need to rethink ..
I am not a christian .. but that does not mean that all what christians saying is wrong .. no .. I differ from them only in that jessus is only a prophet .. and he is not the son of god .. because god has not any son .. and he does not need to a son ..

Christians aren't pessimistic...they believe they are going to heaven. They pity atheists because they aren't going to heaven.
