why not teach "science" AND "pretend-science" in the same classroom, as one of the above answerer suggests?
the fun part is letting the kids figure out which is which!!
FUN HUH? :-D
the Nobel prize panel will be pounding at the door to pass out the science prizes!!!

not many would go so far. Most would just like it to be taught as what it is, namely a theory. I know some would have us believe that it is not a theory , and say there is more proof about evolution than there is about gravity, but that is totally misleading we can all perform a simple experiment that shows there is this force which attracts objects towards one another. Drop an anvil to earth and put your foot in the path and wahlah you know immediately that there is this force. The thing that is not proveable is what causes the force and there is scant proof about this, in fact Einstein had an alternate theory to the one widely accepted with regards to that.
One can not perform an experament that shows that verticle evolution is even possible much less anywhere near as observable as gravity.
We can show mutation happens within a species but that is not the evolution that is taught in schools to children. The idea that through time evolution in a verticle way caused one species to over time develop into a new one is not as provable as is the existance of gravitational pull and should not be taught as if it is. To do so is not scientific. It is a religion that requires an immense amount of faith.. The possibilty of an intelligent mind being at the root of what we observe as life today is equally possible.
Think about this. Can you not imagen that one day soon man will genetically alter a species by combining DNA of two known species and come up with a new species in the controlled environment of a lab. If you can see that as a possiblity then why could it not have happened in the past by a superior intelligence to our own.
To many that possibility is a better theory than evolution. I say until we can drop a parrot on our foot and it changes into a scientist then both ideas are either theory or religion but not proven science.
Lets call a spade a spade.'lets not teach theory as fact, how hard is to preceed a statement with according to the theory of evolution this happened.
That is the stance of many who do not want their children to be taught what they may someday may find was not true. It's not like it has not happened b4

Only the incorrect interpretations of science such as evolution. Teach science in its pure form, but let the students decide the "therefores" and I would suggest the same with the Bible. Teach what it says and let the students draw their own conclusions.

Not as long as it is non biased as most evolutionary science is.It seems like thats the only way evolution can stay around is through lies, distortion and manipulation in the name of so called "science"

Im not for evoloution but i think science is a very good class. There are a lot more things you can learn from science than just evoloution. If they want to teach their theorys thats fine but they should not force a student to learn if they dont believe that.

This is why Jesus Land would be perfect for those against science. They could live in their own little bubble without having reality pushed in their beliefs.

because the earth is not flat, the sun and the moon do not surround the earth, and prayers are not very effective for the treatment of cancer.
science is the basis of modern society and faiths are a weight upon society's legs.

Probably not. They seemed to have just zoned in on evilution for some reason.
Not sure why, it is a valid science as any other.
