Obviously, you and the people who answered your question would like to live peaceably together. But from looking at other Q&A, there are many people who refuse to adopt the "live and let live" attitude.

What can be done so that ALL may live peaceably together?

Christians: Some sincerely believe that they have a religious and moral obligation to witness for their Lord, to spread their religion, to tell everyone they meet. They cannot agree to let you enjoy some other belief -- they MUST try to save you.

Atheists: Atheists have a choice - they can be quiet or they can bait believers - they do not have a moral obligation to fulfill. However, many have a sincere desire to do away with superstition because they believe the world would be a better place if we all thought with our heads. It is hard to be quiet when one has a cause, and that cause directly impacts one's life in many ways.

Muslims: Here we need to distinguish at least two types of thinking. The Islamists/jihadists and the Quiet Others. The Islamists have a mission from god to wipe out the infidels by conversion or death, with death being preferable and more fun. The Quiet Others are in anguish that this is happening, but they believe god has stopped their mouths and so they do nothing.

How can such groups as these share our planet peaceably?

As evolution is God's methodology for creation, perhaps religion is God's methodology for destruction. ;-)

Well all of us, whether Muslims, Jews, Christians etc...should have respect for one another. We may not hold the same beliefs but we should leave it up to God. Or if you an atheist...just leave it. There are going to be believers and non-believers of your religion and we just got to face the fact that we can't change people. When we understand this and treat people with respect i believe everything would be okay. Where the dangers lie is in insult: many people mock and insult other peoples religion or view of life. I'm Muslim and i believe that the only way to live peacefully is respect and tolerance: If it's not harming you in anyway then leave the rest up to Allah...even though you don't agree with other peoples views.

Well, i am an atheist, but i'm very interested and i study all religions. But people take it very seriously and many of them are fanatics. That leads to agression, fundamentalism, violence and hate. It seems to me like the only way to make peace is to make an organisation that will help people who continue using violence, will try to stop the poverty and make them feel safe and prevent violence by doing that. And then, maybe both sides would loosen up a bit. We should respect all religions otherwise we have to keep in mind that we may pay for our mistreatment.

Actually, it's not that difficult. We just have to accept that people believe different things and - so long as nobody tries to use their beliefs to justify immoral activities - get on with our lives.

For example, we need to see religiously-motivated discrimination as offensive, and we need to fight it. But we don't need to fight the religions underlying them. They'll go away soon enough anyway...

Somebody recently quoted this from the Qur'an. It's a useful guide to life: "To you be your religion, and to me my religion."

just accepting that we each have different opinions and don't mention religon and we'll get along fine♥ we're still human beings who can accept another difference, and no trying to convince the other to go the other's way♥
