Somebody recently wrote an answer to another question that strongly implied that 'this is a bad world, which is why Jesus will come to take us away from it'.

As someone who doesn't believe in the End Times, I have an absolute moral imperative to try however possible to improve this world - the only one I believe in.

My question is whether or not a believer in the End Times shares this moral imperative.

Sorry, my rewording of the question at the end gives an opposite answer (i.e. 'no' to the titular question is 'yes' to the concluding question) so just ignore the concluding question and answer the titular one.

you cannot make the world a better place, we are in a fallen condition, so how can u make the world a better place without God the creator? Since u don't follow God, do u subscribe to the principles of the georgia guidestones? which means 9 out of 10 must be dead...that is what the powers that be are working towards. (wars, sickness, death)
Jesus will not come until the LAST Trump, and except He would shorten those days (tribulation) there would no flesh be saved.

Do the best you can ,love all the good things in the world, live your life as you would in heaven ,then you become a part of that coming new world happening very soon upon the blessed. But as for the wicked only bringing more evil into world through their thoughts of hate and destroyThere left behind with the passing of this old world .Some call it the lake of fire,in a way it is the earth passing on to become and I give you the bright morning star.

I find it highly disturbing that fundamentalists seem to regard the world as dead already, so they see no reason to even attempt to right its wrongs, so fuelling the death of the planet by their inaction and strange belief that "God will come down and make it all better in the end", thereby passing the buck from having to do something themselves.
No wonder they are all eagerly awaiting judgment day - responsibility for ones actions seems too much of a burden for some, nowadays - it seems easier to blame an imaginary figure such as Satan for making one do wrong, so convincing oneself that God will forgive one, as "it was really the Devil's fault". The frightening thing is, is that DubbleYa bush seems to think like this too...and he's got his finger on the button...!

"Kyoto agreement? NAH, we don't need THAT! God'll sort it out for us..."

Hmm....

If you believe in the end time, it doesn't mean making the world better is a waste of time. That is like asking, what is the point of renovating my house if Im gonna die in 60 years? There is time between now and then, time which can be enjoyed more if the world improves. There are also plenty of souls to be saved.

I think it makes it all the more pressing a need.

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15-16

Time is a precious commodity, not to be wasted. As is life. While there are hardships I am willing to bear in this life because I have faith in the next, I am not ambivalent toward this life. My duty here is to improve what I can - to let God's light show through me. Not in what I proclaim so much as in what I do.

Doomsayers are losers and they can't face reality. They have been preaching the end of the world for two millennia and it never happened. Many of these demented psychopaths actually delight in the thought of people rotting on earth while they're watching the spectacle from heaven. Are they lunatics or what?

The only end times we have upon us is the destruction we as stupid humans are carrying out.

The only way to avoid this is to stop what we're doing, open our eyes and make changes in our world.

Those that believe the world is ending in some big god -caused cataclysmic event are those who don't want to take responsability for what is going on around them.

my good friend, it is never a waste of time to try and make things better for the world. we could be told tomorrow that the world will be struck by a comet and will be destroyed the next day, and i would spend that time still trying to do good for others.
