can I make any adjustments on nero or on my pc so that at least I can use other programs and burn at the same time?

Nero is using your CPU to burn CD/DVD and to burn good CD/DVD, I don't think you should run any other application at the same time. If you can upgrade your CPU to Intel core duo or AMDx2 CPU, then only one of the processor will be use by Nero and still have the other processor free to run anything else. You may not even notice any slow down if you have those newer processors.

Could it be that Nero, just wants to burn Rome?? or you have burn a lot of discs, and not clean you'r pc??

Shut down all other applications before starting Nero.
