For example, lets say this one guy loves this girl greatly, and he has been trying for a year to win her heart, but she just doesn't feel the same way about him. Then one day the girl was walking down an alley and a dude with a gun pulls the trigger of a gun at her, and suddenly out of no where the guy jumps in front of her and intercepts the bullet, saving her life. She then realizes how much she means to him, and decides to love him back and be with him. Is this a good reason? does she actually love him, or is she just in love with his love for her?

it sometimes takes a tragedy or if you almost lose someone to realise how much that person really means to you......the old saying you dont know what youve got til its gone comes to mind.
so in this case it may be just that....after he intercepts the bullet and almost dies she starts to realise that he meant more to her than she thought and starts to focus on her true feelings.

Loving a guy who saves your life isn't quite the same as loving him for loving you. It is more complicated. How could she avoid seeing good points in him that she had previously overlooked if she even knew they existed? It would be just about impossible to not see him as braver than he appeared the day before. If someone saved my life, even if it was nothing personal on his part, I would get at least a little bit of a crush on him.
Taking the hero worship out of the situation, I think it would be a mistake to get into a relationship with someone just because he loves you but love is different. Love is unique between any 2 individuals. I 'm not sure that love is really ever a bad idea or that there actually are good reasons for love. Loving someone who loves you is certainly a better reason than many. It makes more sense than loving a man because of his looks or money or prestige.

That is what is known as "the Florence Nightingale" affect...where someone falls in love over extreme circumstances. It is generally more of a needy infatuation at a low moment of someones life, but it is, indeed, love.
Love comes in all different shapes and sizes and you never love any one the same as you love any other.

Man, that is deep! I think it is a little of both. She loves him for loving her enough to take a bullet for her. She also may realize that she loved him all along, but just didn't know it. It's such a funny thing: Love.

Maybe when he saved her life brought that connection between him and her close. She fell in love with him. Love happens in mysterious ways.
