I have a Female Shepherd that we got when she was about 15 months. The people that had her got her when she was a pup and kept her on a chain in the backyard her whole life!! I have done a lot of training with her and she is still animal agressive. She is wonderful with people and children, but hates other animals. I put a muzzle on her when she is bred. And I have only bred her in a controlled situation where we have assisted with the breeding. Meaning, we stay right with the dogs with them on lead and are right there during the breeding. Even helping the male by guiding him in if need be. I will only breed my male to outsided bitches with assisted breedings. You need to be careful because the ***** can bite the ear off a male in a split second! Now, if a ***** is not ready to stand she will growl and snap at the male. Make sure that she is really ready to stand, also do not just turn the 2 of them loose together and leave them be period. If this is a proven stud, you can do an AI. I can AI the dogs myself. Call around to vets to see about AI's. There is a vet in my area that does 3 services for $75. If she is ready to stand, I would muzzle her so that she does not hurt the male. Good Luck.

Why do you want to mate your dog is she a champion show dog or are you just a backyard breeder have you had her hips etc x-rayed so she doesn't pass on H.D. to her puppies because if she was a good type of dog the other person with the male would know to to perform the mating etc. And do you know if your dog is ready to mate have you been counting the days and watching her.I dont thinks so.Just think about the homeless puppies and dogs all over the world that are put to sleep because of people like you. I hope she stays aggressive and doesnt mate.

i would go with the first person but there is a problem with that. If you do take her to a vet and she does get pregnant. She might become more agressive and not only towards other dogs, Towards humans also. Because they will get very protective of there babys. Ask the vet, Once she had her pups how long do you have to wait to fix her. Because once she is fixed her mood will calm down. Hope this helps

Have you tried her around males when she is at the receptive stage of being in season? My female was like that, stil is in fact, but when she got to that bit near the end of the season where she was very very receptive...so glad my male is done or I would;'ve ended up with pups..now she is speyed so I don;t have to worry...I have to ask why you want to her to mate when she obviously doesn't seem that interested

If she is really ready to mate, and is still aggressive, then the only option is the vet..He will artificially inseminate her and all will be safe..they charge about $80 to do that in this area..

You do realize you are talking about rape? If she doesn't want to mate, you have to respect that. Is she hostile even when she is in heat?
