I was thinking, maybe laughter?

Is it safe to assume that all humans like to laugh? Does that mean that all humans like to feel happy? Is happiness a need, such as eating?

:-)

I must apologize for my poor phrasing..

"The one common thing that all Humans like" would have been more suitable..

Is 'liking' just the feeling that arises from fulfilling a need?

:-)

The only common attribute of "All" Humans is that we are mammals! Other than that we are as different from one another as snowflakes. There are some common traits but if you dig deep enough you'll find these are either brought on by basic survival skills passed down through the millennium or the result of socially established and excepted training. Viva la difference!

We all laugh but not always as a sign of happiness or pleasure, don't you think? I think laughter for us is like the filler - we laugh when we are happy, when we are unbearably sad or hysterical, when we want to hurt someone, when we want to cheer someone up, to show politeness, to cover an awkward moment, and any number of other situation. The same thing holds true for smiling. (?)

Happiness is a choice, however as A Christian I "must" point out that something, make sure your happiness is grounded right, we live in A world that everyone dies in, that means that everyone is walking around in there own grave RIGHT NOW, still happy but wait it gets happy though, you see someone, the second member of The Godhead gave Himself so you can be happy not just for the short time you are here but FOREVER, "For God [the Father] "SO" Loved you that He gave Jesus so if you will BE-LIVE in Him you will not perish but have everlasting life, and making someone else happy is cool too, "IF" you love me keep my commandments [not suggestions by the way] so make God happy and follow His plans and you will be in God's kingdom and both of you will be happy. Free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com Hay make yourself even happier and visit a Seventh Day Adventist Chruch in your area and keep the fourth commandment about the Sabbath day [Saturday is the seventh day not sunday the first day] because God loves you, and that should make you REAL happy,

It has to be the need to keep asking questions...such as "what is the meaning of life"...until we find out the answer has always been 42!

Liver!
Is it safe to assume that all humans have a liver?

Why are you so concerned with looking for one common attribute? The search is pretty meaningless.

I'll venture another idea - cause-effect hypothesising. Humans are very much inclined to look for causes and reasons. So much so that we often come up with entirely spurious explanations, which sometimes even become enduring beliefs.

Man is searching for happiness through out his life. since each of us can think we try to find happiness indifferent things. There is only one state of real permanent happiness. It is a state of divine bliss. Allothers are temporary lasting for few minutes to few years

The definition of happiness differs....from person to person..

Who doesnt like being happy?

But people sadly turn to external sources to be happy than to the internal ones!!
