Your question should be answered with a business plan. Only you know what items you want or need for the business, how much salary and benefits you can afford to pay, and how much marketing you will need to attract enough business to start turning a profit. Will you buy or lease your vans? Will they be new or used? Will you have your name imprinted on them? Will you hire employees or independent contractors? What kind of supplies do you want to invest in before you get your first client? There are so many variables that there's no way to help you target a dollar amount. Figure on at least $10,000 to get up and running because having more is better than not enough. Whatever your budget, don't exceed it. Start with just getting yourself set up before hiring to make sure you've got the workload to support hiring people, paying workman's comp, paying salary and benefits, etc.

I am in the process of doing this very thing I set my target price at 10,000 and I am remaining open to the possiblity that it could be a bit more.

But in your case you might want to go a bit higher for the simple fact your looking at 2 vans instead of one.

what part of the country are you starting this?
