my best mate wants to be my bf.. he asked me to formal (aussie word for prom) and im not sure if i should say yes.. i would go with him as friends coz were really close but ive got a bf n we have been together for 2 yrs 1 month (today :) ) and he is in the grade above me and i think he wont let me coz he didnt take anyone to his formal but i wanna go with this guy coz hes so sweet n i cant say no.. help :S

Is it that he won't let you to be with him? This doesmot seems to be enough reason for saying no. If u like your best mate more tham your bf and u think he will be a better partner than just go for him. Dump your bf if he has a problem. Its your like and u r the one to decide what is better for u.

Look. Not all men cheat. A lot, yes. A lot of women also cheat. I'm i nthe same position. The guy I'm with I've been with for four years. I honestly believe he made a mistake. I think people make mistakes and that people can be forgiven. I always have believed in second chances, and love is soemthing that deserves a second chance. Has he cheated on you often? If so, how many times? Can it be seen as an honest screw up, or is he just a cheater? Ask yourself these questions. Peopel will tell you that there are men out there that wont cheat, and they are right. I've been told that since my episode with my boyfriend, and more people than not have told me to leave him. But, I love him. It all depends on your feelings for him. Finding a new boyfriend is easier said that done. Breaking up with someone is a hard thing to do. If you love him, and if he loves you, then maybe you should try to work on it. Is he sorry? Will he do it again? Ask yourself these things and judge from there. Only you can make the final decision. First of all, what do you mean, your boyfriend "wouldn't let you"? Isn't it your decision? On the other hand, your so-called best friend should respect the fact that you are in a relationship and not try to come between you and your boyfriend.

That's a very tough decision...lol. You can act sick... :\ but that's kinda rude... so... I'd say you go out with your best mate. Your boyfriend has been with you for two years. Doesn't your best mate deserve a chance???

What do you mean "i can't say no"??-you can say no,and having a b/f,you SHOULD say no!Sounds to me like your "best mate" is a player-and you are so close to being played!!Reverse this situation...would you be happy about it-i doubt it.Be strong,you have a b/f,so keep your best mate at arms length.....and his attentions even longer!!!

just think what all u will lose just for formal..if u r bored of ur bf after 2 yrs then accept it,otherswise if he is ur best mate ,he will understand the reasons for ur denial.
