And store it back in the cupboard...or can it go bad?? I bought a can...and I have a terrible habit of opening it and taking a finger lick of it...and putting it back in the cupboard...I never put the frosting in the fridge as I will have used it up on the cake or throw the rest away...But today I got that can to frost it...I took a taste...and the taste was BAD....nothing like it tasted a few days before....so my question is can it go bad...and should I always put it in the fridge even if I open it and take a lick?? I know it sounds gross...but it really isn't like that...I would take a plastic spoon or a flat butter knife and just scoop it a bit!!! So don't even go there!!! (ha-ha)

once you open a can of frosting, you have to put it in the frige or it will spoil. if you want to sneak a bite or two, just leave it in the fridge and make it your own. i have done this myself so buy extras in case you need to frost a cake. i love the coconut pecan frosting and i buy extra and keep it in the fridge just to have a sweet. knock yourself out! if you love something dont deprive yourself.

It should go in the fridge once you open it. Some frostings can keep a few days at room temperature but it will stay fresher longer in the fridge and you won't have to worry about if it's safe.

U should refrigerate it if you don't plan on using it soon. The stuff has so much sugar that it wont go bad. It is smarter to put it somewhere where it wont attract bugs. But 4 real, its really easy to make your own and you can make just a little bit.

You shouldn't buy store bought frosting to begin with. The stuff is full of harmful preservatives. One of the main ingredients is hydrogenated oils. That stuff will kill you.

I find that once something has been opened it should be refrigerated. Unless it is dry products.
