I don't feel that the random firing of neurons necessarily accounts for all near death experiences. I beleive there is a spirit that is contained in the living body that continues after death.

Well i mean, so many people have near death experiences when blood leaves the brain. People see leprechauns, devils and Peter Pan also, what does that have to say about it?

Read the Bible friend, the Bible will tell you about what happens after you die. Start with Genesis 2:7, Ecclesiastes 12:7 and Ecclesiastes 9:5, even Acts 2:28-30 if you wish. Revelation 20 will tell you what happens after.

I have also felt spirits, these are not departed loved ones, but demons who's sole purpose is to deceive you into believing you will be okay if you reject Jesus.

Anyways God bless!!

Note the term "Near death". This means the person has not had complete biological death. The mind is still capable of functioning. Before the time that the person has nearly gone brain dead they could have had such visions.

When I was younger, I used to astral project all of the time. The imagination is a great tool if used correctly. I could see my room, the roof of my house, tree tops, etc. This was all done with my imagination. For some reason every time I tried to read cards in another room, or test my astral projection it always caused the vision to blur. Often times I would wake up. This is not because of some supernatural boundary, it is because it is all fantasy.

Near death experiences can be attributed to the random firing of neurons in the brain as it shuts down and dies. It is not uncommon for people to smell, see, feel, hear, and taste things while certain areas of their brains are electrically stimulated. The same applies when those same neurons randomly fire while the brain is shutting down in preparation for death during a near death experience>

c'mon... subconsciously you were aware of what was happening around you, yet your eyes were shut. your mind was a blur. and you wanted to say something but your body mechanisms were out of rhytmn. thus, giving you the thought you were floating in air... no such thing as near death. if so, there should also be a near life to balance it out. but how would you define a near life?

edit:

with regards to the spirits... psychologically, we believe that our body and our spirit are whole. now, if i donated a part of me (a stone, a kidney, etc), would my spirit be whole? in the same manner, a decapitated man or a chop-up body, would the spirit be whole? is there any proof of that? c'mon now, any takers? feel free to criticize me....

Folks that are near death experiences are under heavy drugs and when the mind is so druged you can think you see all kinds of things, In Jesus case when He died the first person He saw He said John 20:17 "...I have NOT yet ascended unto my Father..." and of David in Acts 2:29.34 we are told David has NOT ascended into the heavens, we are told rather when Jesus returns in 1 Thessalonians 4: 15-18 it is when He returns that those who are ready have met the conditions for salvation goes to Heaven with Christ, free bible lessons www.itiswritten.com talk to me via email NOT messanger if you have more questions wgr88@yahoo.com God bless you.
