About you, I am not sure. It depends on how far you've come in recovery, & whether or not you still need your meds. Follow your doctor's advice.
I am bi-polar. I have come a long way in recovery...even to the point of working with others who have mental health issues. I would not dare go off my meds much as I would like to. I am doing so well, I want to keep doing well. I have no desire to go back where I have been...in the hospital seeing all sorts of things I call the uglies. Without my meds I am also suicidal...not a good feeling...don't think I would do anything, but still the feeling is scarey & down right awful. Don't wish to go there either. Since I met the doctor I have now I haven't been in the hospital for 19 years. Before that I had been in the hospital 14 times. Now my diagnosis is manic-depressive in remission. I like that & I want to stay there & continue to stay in remission.
I have know people who came off their meds...and ended up back in the hospital...even attempting suicide. What happens is...they start feeling better, think they are well & go off their meds. Not a good idea for most people. I know a guy right now who will not stay on his meds because he thinks he doesn't need them. He is now in the forensic unit at a mental hospital. I don't know yet what he did but that is very serious. And I could tell you about others but I will spare you.
All this is to caution you. If you are feeling better because of your meds, think carefully before you go off, even with a doctor's supervision. Be sure to talk it over with him & listen to him. He might agree to taper you off or he might suggest that you stay on them. I have never known anyone to go off their meds who seriously wanted to get better & wanted to stay out of the hell they were in. As I just said, the people I know who went off did it on their own...much to everybody's regret. So again I repeat, think carefully, talk to your doc. The chances are you will experience everything all over again...but there is always the possbility & there is hope.
Much love, Nala

I'm not a doctor, only another opinon,my best guess is that if you stop, cold turkey you'll have problems(withdrawl)and other side effects(your condition can revert back to where you were) but it sounds like you know that already, ask your doctor what the present medication does to your brain(synaptical paths..etc) and if the meds you take know are too strong or hindering, what other meds will have the same effect or maybe your condition through whatever course of therapy can be put in a natural(non drug state)example not all A.D.D. cases are treated with ridulin...but dont start anything 'till youv'e talked with a doctor...good luck

if you go off the drugs the only thing that will happen is you might feel ok for a while. then you will get manic or really depressed and the panic attacks will be worse than ever. I would never take a chance like that and i have been on and off meds for 10 years.

There is no cure for Bi-polar . Its something you will live with the rest of your life. And going off your meds isnt going to help .the only reason why you fell better is because your meds are doing their job. But you can ask your doc to lower your dosages .

That is what my girlfriend was experiencing, a job that was stressful, and a supervisor that had not a clue! She did adjust her meds, and it helped a bit, but your body gets used (immune) to the dosage, they just have not found the right one yet, she has been through soooo many.
Be careful, listen to your Doc, and remember those blood tests...if you decide to leave your employment, try to get a medical leave first...don't quit your job, employers are going to have to realize this is a handicap, and they have to deal with it.

actual Bipolar moods do no longer cycle that quickly.. Bipolar moods final for weeks or months and easily substitute 2 or thrice a twelve months.... whether it sounds lots like Borderline character illness. Borderline has speedy temper swings that final for under hours or days and rigidity and has subjects with have confidence etc... which you point out. additionally Borderline is led to by making use of youth traume which you incredibly have.

I think the panic symtom can suppress you madness.
you should take sufficient mineals Ca, Mg, and Zn
50% or 33% of the maximum recomanded daily alloeranced.
keep contacting you doctors. too much positive mineral (ca,mg, zn) would make you depressed, too much negative mineals would make your crazy.
your firends can help you. be careful when you are going to the dangerious places. Learn to delay you actions.
