I would like to recommend you to make the advance booking for "transfer" through your travel agent. The hotel representative will meet you at airport, and showing the sign of your name. It is safe and more convenience when you first arrived. Other alternative is to take a taxi to Sukhumvit Hotel. But don't forget to tell the taxi driver about the "Soi" (lane) and its location, as Sukhumvit road is very long one from town to town. Are you talking about Sukhumvit Hotel which is located on Soi 11?

Suvarnabhumi Airport is about 2-hours drive to Bangkok! Cars from rental companies available (expensive, average Bahts 2000). Taxis go the same way for less (average Bahts 1000). There are shuttle/public buses for a fraction of that price, serves to major tourist destinations and hotels in Bangkok. Full details at the Airport! Have fun ;-)

there's a bus right outside arrivals which will cost you about 100baht

the taxi desk is outside too and they will charge a flat fee of 350 baht

or you cold take the limousine service that is inside the arrivals hall which will cost you anything up to 1000 baht

the choice is yours

the trains there too, but i've never used it from the airport
