Well done Alex. You are the only one who understood the question.

Not one of these answers are what I was really looking for. I was hoping that someone had a quick and easy formula for converting. The long way round is far to tedious. Perhaps I should have explained better.

You cannot 'convert' seconds into seconds !
Otherwise,
60 seconds = 1 minute
60 minutes = 60 x 60 seconds = 3,600 seconds = 1 hour
24 hours = 24 x 3,600 seconds = 86,400 seconds = 1 day
You'll find these printed in your maths textbook.

Consider the ratio
1 day = 24 hours
1 hour = 60 minutes
1 minute = 60 seconds
In order to convert seconds to days, take (x) seconds divided by (24X60X60). That should give you the fraction of seconds in a day. Do the same for hours, and minutes using the ratio.

You would like to convert 1000 000 seconds.
Well, there are 60 second in a minute. You need to divide 1000000 by 60 and integer answer is the number of minutes and the remainder is the number of seconds. Therefore you have 16666 minutes and 40 seconds in 1000000 seconds.
Now there are 60 minutes in an hour. By similar calculations to above you have 277 hours 46 minutes and 40 seconds in 1000000 seconds.
There are 24 hours in a day and by similar calculations to above we have 11 days 13 hours 26 minutes and 40 deconds in 1000000 seconds.
Final answer is:
11 days : 13 hours : 26 minutes : 40 seconds
Hope this helps.

Your are looking to convert 1 million seconds into days, hours and seconds. I assume you will be using a calculator.
Enter 1000000 then divide this by 60 to give minutes. Divide by 60 again to give hours. Then divide by 24 to give days. You should end up with 11.57407407. You now have 11 days. Subtract the 11, if you are using a scientific calculator press =. You then multiply by 24 which should give you 13.77777778. You now have 13 hours. Subtract the 13 press =. Now multiply by 60, this should give you 46.666666667. You now have minutes. Subtract 46 and multiply by 60 again, This, depending on you calculator will give you 40 or maybe 39.999999999, which should be read as 40. You now have the seconds. So you million seconds is 11 days 13 hours 46 minutes and 40 seconds. I hope this satisfies you question.

To convert seconds to minutes, you divide by 60.
To convert those minutes into hours you divide by 60 again.
To convert those hours into days, you divide by 24.
but, I think u wer lookin for da opposite, i.e to convert days>hours>minutes>seconds
Where you would multiply by 24 , 60 and 60.
