If you go to the MY COMPUTER icon and either:-
Right click and select PROPERTIES (if there) or....
Double click, select VIEW SYSTEM INFORMATION from the left hand column
This will bring up a dialogue box showing you which version of Windows you have, which service pack etc. etc.

Just download Belarc Advisor. Not only will it tell you what version you have of Windows, but check to see if you have all the updates and show you you hardware and software. This information is all kept on your computer and is not sent back to Belarc:)

right click on your "my computer" icon. its located either on your start menu or in the upper left corner of your desktop. it will give you a drop down menu. choose properties. it will bring up a system properties window, on that window it will tell you which version of window you are running, how much ram you have, etc.
