we just started dating and i dont want to give up too soon but he needs to know that this behavior will only land him in the dog house. what can i do or say to give him a reality check. i've already found out its pointless to argue with him.

Um... why are you with him? Staying with him only tells him that he can get away with this behavior.
Giving him the cold shoulder when he behaves this way speaks louder than anything you can say. If he asks why you turn cold, be blunt with the truth. His behavior turns you off. Don't let him argue the point. That's your answer and you're sticking to it.
Chances are he won't change for you. Big heads rarely do.
You deserve better than him, honey. I'm sure you knew that while asking your question.

Give him a cool down period. The next time he says something smart just walk look at him deeply don't say anything and walk away. Don't talk to him for about 3 days, let him start wondering why you are not communicating with him. He will call you up and then when you have his attention let him know it has to cease or you will cease. He is use to women allowing him to get away with his arrogant smart mouth. I went through the same thing, I gave my friend his walking papers and you best believe he came running back and he now watches what he says to me.and we communicate better. He was not use to a woman not putting up with his mouth. and your friend is not either. stop him if you want him in your life.

You find him arrogant / smart mouthed, but who knows he may only be trying to outsmart you in these fields.
I think that guy is honest. if not why he would hurt you even at the cost of losing you on date itself.
watchout before you step out to change the world, you tune up yours or stay aloof.

just tell him straight out that you can't talk like a reject and the arrogance is just something he is doing because he has low self esteem and he's trying to make up for something that he's lacking. I would say dump him.... and if he asked why... then tell him the reasons... calmly without getting out of control

Well, you can find something that can bruise his ego. If that doesn't work. It might be best to walk away. You need to put your foot down that his behavior is unacceptable and you won't put up with his childish act.

hey he wont change so I would flat out just tell him you dont like the way he acts .be straight and to the point .
