I went to school for massage but only on people.. I found a web page for pets.. I as sorry I don't remember what it is at the time.

But my dogs love it.. Every night I just sit on the floor and massage my 3 dogs.. I always start at the tail and work my way up to the ears.... My dogs fall a sleep and sleep all night.

I wouldn't pay 200.00 dollars ....I feel that somewhere a long the line of 20 to 30 dollars in enough..
A person who gets a massage pays any where around 55 to 65 dollars. That's here in Green Bay.. Wis...Other places it's more.. Look up pet Massage I think you'll find something..
Besides if you give your pet the massage you'll grow even closer..

Good luck...

If that is something you are thinking about doing professionally. It would probably work best in cities like LA and New York where there are a lot of wealthy pet spoilers congregated.
I think it's great for them! Dogs love it especially old dogs. If I had enough money I would but right now I would only be able to pay the masseuse in homemade meatballs like the old lady in The Wedding Singer.

Yes, I have found it to be QUITE helpful in treating many conditions. There's no need for you to hire a professional, however, unless your dog has severe pain associated with certain spots. Your pet would probably enjoy it more from you, too. :-)

If you would still feel more comfortable hiring someone, ask your DVM for a referral. It is poorly regulated, however. Although special courses and certifications exist, most states don't require them. (Note: *chiropractic care* for pets ALWAYS requires a referral, since only specially-trained, licensed people can legally perform it. It is illegal for a human chiropractor to perform adjustments on animals, unless dually licensed as a DVM.)

Edit: Ooops, maybe I misread your question. Are you looking to HIRE one, or BECOME one?

I would not hire a therapist when I'm perfectly capable of doing this myself and do on a regular basis.

I think it's a great idea. However I'm not sure I'd pay more than $20.
