why would an animal not go to heaven as some religions promise?humans are classified as mammals, which are animals any way you look at it.our civility is the only thing that seperates us from other species.to think that other animals besides humans would not be included in an "afterlife" is pretty darn snooty if you ask me,i know some of you might quote scripture, saying why "animals" dont go, *sigh* thats fine i welcome all responses but does anyone see what i mean?i understand if you dont.

According to Hindu Belief, all Humans are descendents of Ape, again an animal. Thus all humans too are animals. BUT, Human life is the best of all lives to Live and that the fact that Human beings have been blessed with Brains gives them the liberty to choose from Right and Wrong, Good and Bad etc. It will always take you to live as Human being rather than life of any other animal in this world to attain 'Moksha' ie, freedom from cycle of life and death, because only human have the liberty enhance the power of their brains by practicing spirituality and decide as to where they want to go "Hell" or "Heaven". All beings on this earth do their daily chores like sleep during the night, wake up in Morning, do the biologics, and then go hunt for food to keep their folks well fed and then return in the evenings and then go off to sleep. During their lives they reproduce as well. This has been going on for ages. But it is only the Human beings who have been able to think and improve on their living conditions through their pursuits in research and development (wordly pursuits) to overcome the hurdles and achieve material comforts. It is a matter of developing the power of your brain and thus inteligence (spiritual pursuits) and channelise your immense energies in the right direction for acheiving spiritual enlightenment, which is the path to "heaven".
Thanks!

Yes animals have the same facet of the creator that is a soul as we who have been given dommion over the plants and animals on the earth have. Therfore they will be admitted into heaven to rejoin with the CREATOR on the day of Judgement.
Read Genisus it does not say that animals and planets have no soul or a diferent type of soul then humans do.
In fact the animals did not seem to have souls until God let the souls go into the physical universe that he made. some entered into the bodies of the plants and animals and became so entranced with the sensations that they could or did not want to leave these bodies and forgot where they came from.appearenly humankind for the most part did the same thing.

Nothing against animals, but God never said that he created them w/a sole as man was given. Since we are talking about the after life and what The Bible says about it I would address your mammal comment that man was created as a seperate being from animals and that we were created in Gods image. Since God has a spirit then he also gave us a spirit, but animals were not created in his image as the Bible says.
That's not to say that there won't be any animals in heaven, but I just don't think that it will be the pets that we have here on earth. Note that the Bible never states that they won't go to heaven so i would not dogmatically say that they won't be there. You might even make the argument that God created animals with the knowledge of Him so they automatically go") That would make it a little ironic for those who worship cows and yet the cow is thinking "I appreciate your kindness, but I can't get you to heaven. You really should talk to Jesus about that because He wants to get to know you so you can go too! ")
Take care!

This is a very interesting question!! I've never thought of that before.
My guess would be that.. hmm.. animals have a soul and are reincarnated. Then when they are human and die their soul can go to heaven.
The way I see it, animals are just as good as us humans, as far as having a soul. We are equal, but they are in a body that is less capable of doing things, kind of like a disabled person or a deaf person. Maybe when they went to heaven we could all communicate with animals and wouldn't even see them as animals, we would all just be spirits up there and not going about in our Earthly bodies, thus, no animals running around.
Don't know how it works in relgions that believe in heaven, since they don't believe in reincarnation? But I am staying tuned. Though I doubt anyone will answer you.
- would the idiots mind explaining why they gave my answer a thumbs down when i'm the only one who attempted to answer the person seriously?

Men see in animals part of God’s generous provision for human welfare. Animals have served man as burden bearers, as sources of food and clothing, as sanitation agents, and as helpers in the vital activities of plowing and harvesting. Their variety of form and color has delighted his eye; their habits and instincts have been and still are an extensive field for inquiry into the marvels of God’s creative work. Though animals die in the same manner as man, they do not share his hope of a resurrection.
Animals were created with a limited life span, humans had the prospect of living on earth forever. (Genesis 3:22, 23; Psalm 37:29) Jesus Christ said that to enjoy “everlasting life,” we must exercise faith and take in knowledge of God, things that animals are incapable of doing. (John 3:36; 17:3)
God created animals for the sake of humans. Animals can help them do their work and can serve as their companions or pets. They also serve to magnify God’s love and wisdom.
The Creator gave life to both humans and animals. But for how long were they to continue to live? Scientists report that humans seem to have the potential of endless life, so that investigators are perplexed as to why man dies. The Bible gives the reason. It says that the Creator gave the first humans the opportunity of living forever. Death came only because they rebelled. (Gen. 2:17; 3:17-19; Rom. 5:12) What, though, of animals? They are not capable of conscious rebellion against God; yet they live only for a length of time and then die. Hence, it is clear that the Creator never purposed that individual animals live forever. For them death was natural..

I agree that the idea is incredibly narcissistic, but the basic premise in the religions of the Book is that humans are not in fact animals, but were specially created by YHWH in YHWH's image. No other animals were given "the breath of life" and so were created inferior and incapable of heaven.
Even if it were true, I don't want to go to a heaven that my puppy can't go to anyway.

They will go to your heaven. Look at the revalations talking about visions of heaven and animals, etc.
Christians don't want anyone in heaven but them. Which is a mockery of their beliefs of love and brotherhood.

According to the Holy Qur'an, animals do go to heaven. There is specifically one dog mentioned in the sacred scripture that helped some people when they were in some trouble in a cave. God informed everyone that this dog will be in heaven.

Some people I know are so devoted to their pets that I'm pretty sure they would either change religions or opt for hell ( or it's equivalent, depending on religion) rather than not have their pets with them in the afterlife.
This looks like a problem for PETA. (heh?)
It will be interesting to see what people quote, and how they reason.
Good question.

I don't know too much about the laws of religin but I think you have to say that you give yourself to God and ask him for forgiveness etc. Well, an animal cannot do that. And spirits go to heaven not our bodies.
