I thought they discontinued the Black card.
You have to be VERY wealthy to get on of those.

First of all, you have to be a current AMEX card holder and be spending over $250,00 a year with it. Then American Express will invite you to acquire a black card. It costs $2500 to get. Like a previous person said, you have to be insanely rich to get one or afford one.

Under normal circumstances, AMEX invites certain individuals that they have deemed to be in a substantial financial situation. Those that are multi-millionairs, etc. fall into this catogory. There is no application.
