With this news of Christmas lights being offensive and us English not being allowed to fly the English flag in some places.. how can you say this is offensive when the UK is not a Muslim country? (Didn't used to be anyway but only because of immigration that it is getting that way) You should respect the British way of life if you want to come here. If you don't like it you should find somewhere else.

Amen!!!!!!!!! If you expect to be a guest and eventually a citizen of another country, respect it's laws and customs and traditions, because some day they will be yours!!!!!!!!!

I used to live in a predominantly Muslim area in a town in East Anglia. Frankly the people who I lived amongst had no issues with flags, christmas decorations and all the rest of the paraphenalia - in the same way, I had no problems when they were celebrating Eid, or were having a wedding etc.

Please bear in mind that when you hear about these stories they are usually in one of the British newspapers who have a vested interest in stirring up trouble.

I am a Canadian and I fly the cross of St. George in the living room and the old red ensign stlyed Canadian flag (1957 version) .

Okay I tacked it to the wall so technacally i don't "fly" it but whatever.

If this offends the muslims or anyone else I suggest they close thier eyes and fly whatever they want in thier own house/aptartment

Traditions should be respected like the flying of the flag. Immigrants should accept that they were just accommodated.

A.P. is being created by our own "Politically Correct" Loonies who are causing and creating bad situations which no one wants , Muslims or other wise , but this Breed of P C Bastards are destroying Peace , Harmony and Goodwill throughout society and doing a great deal of damage , surely it,s time to put a "Stop" to this Nonsense ? ?

Quite right too. Not to be allowed to fly the English flag in England--ANYWHERE in England--has to be the very nadir of ridiculousness.

Islam has nothing against Christianity, let alone Christmas. Muslims consider Jesus to be one of the greatest people to have ever lived, and they respect anyone who would celebrate his birth (they might even join you).

Muslims also have nothing against Britain or its flag.

It is true that there are some groups of people who hate these things, but you can't very well call them muslims. Any true muslim will give your country and religion the full respect it deserves.

It's a sad day when a national banner can't be flown within the nation it represents.
