Sure, stealing. And murder..And adultery. The love of and desire for money and for people, places, and things is the root of all evil. Goes back to selfishness and jealousy, wanting what others have and thinking that you darn well deserve it.

Unless it was a father stealing food for his family who had none. I am not saying it is OK, just not selfishness I don't think. But what the father should do is simply ask for the food.

All crime is based in selfishness, because when you commit a crime you are saying that your desires are more important than the restrictions on behaviour that society requires for the good of everyone.
