One example is: Stealing, people steal when they are thinking of themself. If they were thinking of others they probably would not steal.

Sure, stealing. And murder..And adultery. The love of and desire for money and for people, places, and things is the root of all evil. Goes back to selfishness and jealousy, wanting what others have and thinking that you darn well deserve it.

Unless it was a father stealing food for his family who had none. I am not saying it is OK, just not selfishness I don't think. But what the father should do is simply ask for the food.

I think all crime has some selfishness involved, something like sexual abuse is nothing but selfishness on the agressors part.
