Driver Information by State
Every state regulates driver's license eligibility of persons with certain medical conditions. The most common requirement for people with epilepsy is that they be seizure free for a specific period of time and submit a physician's evaluation of their ability to drive safely. Another common requirement is the periodic submission of medical reports, in some states for a specified period of time and in others for as long as the person remains licensed.

my mother has epilepsy and since the medication controlled her seizures she was allowed to have a license. I'm not sure if there is a certain amount of time you have to wait between episodes to prove you are well enough to drive though. Hopefully you will not have anymore and can be independent, something we all need. My mother hasn't had one seizure in over 10 years, I hope you will have the same luck.

In Florida it is one year seizure free as determined by your doctor. It may be different in other states. The Medical community is beginning to say that if your seizure free for 2 years you might want to try weening off your medicine as seizures often do not return if they have been suppressed for a that long... Good luck whatever happens... But I will say that I had a neighbor who was having seizures and he did not report them. Finally he careened into a car loaded with teenagers. It was horrible, and eventually he committed suicide while he awaited his trial for vehicular manslaughter.

I had a roommate who had epilepsy she was told that if she went a year with out a seizure she would get her license back. Unfortunately she did not reach the 1 yr mark. If the opportunity was offered to her I don't see why it wouldn't be to you.

if you had a license already , then all you need is for your doctor to write a letter stating you have been seizure free for a year .and you shouldn't have a problem .if you have never had a license then you will do eye , driving and written tests also.

It may vary by state, but in California, I think you must be seizure-free for three years. It is worthwhile, however, to call the local DMV and find out.

Um... i'm guessing your an illigal immigrant, judging by your lack of understanding of the English language.
So, yeah, getting a drivers liscense shouldn't be a problem at all. Go for it.
