Does anyone else get fed up with people answering cat (and pet questions for that matter) when they don't like animals?

Why are these people even in this category if they don't like animals?

People ask for help and the general response is "drown them, or kill them".

So, why are you here if you can't help?

Barrie S ... my cats are indoor cats. Both died this year at the ripe old age of 16. I have now just taken in a stray from the street and given her a home INSIDE as well as the tummy full of kittens she is carrying.

Since I am a PROUD owner of 7 cats I would like to know the answer to this as well. Since there are "not so nice people" out there in the world, we may never know. People are sick and twisted. Would they go to the parenting section were they talk about children and comment that they need to drown them to, probably not. Everyone needs to remember, animals were here first, we're in their territory, like it or not.

You don't have to like that fact that there are crazy cat people everywhere in the world, but you could have the respect to keep your mouths shut and avoid the cat sections. IT'S THAT SIMPLE.

If you don't like cheeseburgers, you don't eat them. Since they don't like cats, you don't have to have one and we don't want to hear about how much you despise of them. Trust me, we feel the same about you! :-D

I think the problem is due to immaturity and a flawed rating system on this site (since you get points no matter how stupid of an answer is given). Not being a kid-friendly person I generally find them quite easy to ignore. ;)

As annoying as it is, I find people who repeatedly give out animal advice that do not know what they are talking about much worse. Some advice I have seen could be harmful to the animal, and an inexperienced owner would not recognize that and unintentionally end up hurting their pet.

I agree with the opinions expressed here by a couple of people that it's bored kids, (some of which can be quite big) who have nothing to do in a productive way like a job or school or even emptying a little box. They can stay on yahoo and get two points for anything even if it's off topic, nonsense, rude or plain evil.
All you can do is ignore them and report them if it gets too ugly.

Bravo! May God bless & keep you! There are not nearly enough people willing to take in strays. They need loving families, too! But I agree with a lot of your answerers; most of these animal-haters are just after the two points. They are also bored & immature. They actually believe someone cares about their opinion, so don't give them the satisfaction of noticing them.

I have noticed this also. But if you read the names of the avatars you will see they seem to do this in a lot of category's. It is points and just being mean and try to get a rise out of people. I read what they write (especially if it is a question of questionable taste.) and then decide not to answer as not to give them any more chances to irritate me or others. In other words just ignore the idiots.

Don't get mad, get even-----report them to Yahoo abuse!!! There's a tab for that on every question and answer.

Many of these idiots talk about sex with kids or their animals, make racist remarks, and other things that could land them in big trouble. In one case, they have stolen another member's identity to pose their bogus slander questions.

They are not contributing,---they want attention and to piss people off. So report them, and get them the attention they deserve, like from law enforcement!!!!

I know what exactly what you mean. I have 3 kitties and they are like my babies so when I read something stupid like "light them on fire or drown them" it makes me SO sick and disgusted. They are living creatures and should be given the same respect as any human being. The people that write these twisted things are probably the same weirdos that sat in their yards and burned ants with magnifying glasses as children.

They probably saw the question in the recent question area...I don't think they specifically went into the animal section to let everyone know they should kill their animals. They want the two points..and they got them.

Because they are scared little people hiding from the world and don't have the courage to lash out at it in any other way.
