In Isaiah 9:6-7
it says, Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. And what is the name of this son?
The "Mighty God" in the next verse.
. JESUS CHRIST IS: "THE MIGHTY GOD.
Isaiah vs 6:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. :)
.
Jesus often said He was the Son. The son., for a reason.
Jesus is the Son..son
God's son=flesh
God's Son=Deity
Mary's son=flesh
Son of God=Deity
son of man=flesh
Son of man=Deity.
Jesus is the Son of man..meaning..He is the DEITY of man.
Jesus being son of man..means He is Mary's son (flesh)
Jesus is both flesh and Deity. It is part of the Trinity.
A easy rule to remember is: Anytime it uses a capital(S) it means Deity.
When it uses a small case (s) it means flesh(man).

Because his human linage can be traced through the males, going back from Joseph, all the way back to Adam. We know exactly whose line lead to Christ, and how long it was from the time of the creation to the time of his birth, as the age of the father was given then the first son was born. You can also use that to see that in 1974, it was 6000 years, or six days for God, since the Creation of man.

The Son of Man was a title for the Son of God, in His humanity, from the Book of Daniel. Jesus used it to show that He was the One from prophecy.
13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

Catholics believe that Jesus is both human and divine, both God and Man. This is important is it not only says that God loved us enough to come down among us, but that God came among us AS one of us with all of our failings except original sin. Jesus ate, slept, peed, cried... he had sucesses and failures and was as much a target of temptation as the rest of us. Maybe more, being that he was/is also God.
