I wish someone told me this when I went in. You can never fully prepare for basic training. Seriously... Don't take anything with you but your basic personal neccessaties. Prepare to get yelled at constantly. Don't eyeball your drill sergent. Be ready to stand for long periods of time. Front leaning rest. Get use to it. It's basically the push up position. SOUND OFF!!! The louder the better. If you wear glasses now. Be ready for the BCG Birth control glasses. DONT TALK TO THE OTHER SEX.... You can get an article 15 for that. Read your smart book. Shut up do what your told when your told. Don't look around while you eat. Physically just run do your sit ups and your push ups. Walking is authoritized but highly discouraged. Be ready to wake up at 4 am lights out at 9 pm. Your'll be up all night the first night and up at 4 am in formation! Be prepared for your shots. They'll inject you with two needles at a time. Just make the best of it. It'll be over soon! Any more questions message me on yahoo msjohnson910

Ah My Dear..Listen to Rochaun J.
Only take your barest necessities. Literally. Don't look the drill instructors in the eye, but do look straight forward when standing at attention. When you get your card to buy what you need, don't buy it if you don't absolutely need it. No pretty stuff, use scent free deodorant, soap. Definitely stay away from the opposite sex, nothing but trouble. You are there to train, not hook up. They'll be plenty of time for that later. Write home as much as you can, when you can, it will help you vent. Keep your stuff secured in your locker at all times. It will get stolen, and God forbid the drill instructor finds a letter laying out, he/she will read it to the entire company. Trust me on that one. If they find your locker unsecured it will get trashed.
There will be little sleep, a lot of sweat, and some tears, but in the end it will have been worth it all and you will get through it.
Good Luck, if you have any more questions, feel free to email me.

Honestly, the best advice I would give anyone is to keep your mouth closed and your ears open. Everything else will fall into place.
Youll make great friends but in boot but youll meet some wisea*sses too. Ignore them.. Trust me, after boot you wont even remember about settling scores with them.
I envy you, its a great time in your life that your about to enter into. The friends you make will be more like family. Walking through the airport while in uniform is something to be proud of. Its some of my best memories and I hope it will be yours as well.
I wish you luck.

Don't make any decsions that will affect your life forever in that stressfull environment. It is doable many many many people have done it before you and many will do it after you. Don't go in with an attitude. Don't listen to rumors. Don't do anything you're not supposed to because if you do you'll only be there longer. Just keep going when it gets tough. Oh yea and I don't care if you're not religious go to Church!!!!!!! They can't yell at you in church and it really get's your spirits up. Oh yea and HOOAH!!!!!!!

You won't get a lot of sleep in the beginning. Come prepared for that in the very least.
