That depends on your unit posting aka where they send you and that depends on when that unit is mob ed they may have come off a rotation and may not be going back to an operational theater and who's says your going to Iraq a lot of folks seem to have forgotten Afghanistan shitty place but we are there . So you get through your training PAY ATTENTION to detail and don't worry about where your going until after your trained you may have more training you don't know so be cool get on with boot camp OK

(1) Once you get out of Fort Benning OSUT and are assigned either 11B or 11C (good luck in Charlie school, those two extra weeks suck) you will get orders cut to your duty station.

(2) Depending on whether you take leave (upto 30 days) and do Hometown Recruiting (30 days) you will have a report date that could be easily several weeks after your graduation from Sand Hill.

(3) Once you arrive at your new duty station, it takes a couple of weeks to inprocess you and get you sorted out at the Replacement Detachment.

(4) Once you arrive at your new unit, if they're about to deploy (under 90 days) they'll typically keep you there for a bit longer rather than ship you out with everyone else, so you can get some training done (i.e. goto the qual range, etc). Same goes for if the unit is already deployed; you'll work for Rear Detachment for a while.

(5) If things suck, you could be looking at under 10 days after you get to your assigned unit for you to be shipped out.

So all in all, I'd say an average of two months between you getting off of Sand Hill and your feet pounding the sand in the Middle East, at the earliest. It really depends on what cycle your gaining unit is in when you arrive.

Good luck.

There is no way to know for sure. It depends on what unit you are sent to. If they recently returned, it may be a while or you could get sent right away if it's their turn in the barrel.

In 30 yrs I have been deployed 9 times for a total of 16 yrs overseas.... The rest was right here in the US....

There is a great chance you going to Iraq my friend. I am proud that you support this cause!Thank you for serving our country!
You should ask your army recruiter he could tell you. But I know from some friends of mine, that they got deployed very soon. Cause we need people in the military. There is a shortage. So I applaud your decission to serve. My friend stay safe anywhere and everywhere you go. You will achieve great things! Sincerely a Military friend.

Put it to you this way:
My husband was transferred to a unit that was already deployed. He had about 4 weeks to inprocess to the Post, get the Iraq-specific training he needed and then his butt was on a plane to the sandbox.

Be safe!

Hard to tell until you get your unit assignment. Then it will depend on where and/or when that unit is deployed. Being an 11 series, your chances are pretty good, though.
