yes that could also work up to a point.as the Earths surface was still a slowly cooling ball of magma. with no real solid surface then just like some of the other planets that are closer to the sun(VENUS)( some of the moons of the OUTER planets are still unstable ). The faster spin would come with the solidifying of the crust and the forming of the iron core.It would still have to be proved some how. AH I missed the other possibility that of the solar system as a whole slowly cooling as the sun cooled and the planets started to form from other forces with the outer planets forming first.
Some people theorize that we did not develop on this planet but maybe on MARS as it would have developed a solid surface that might have been able to support life at one point in time . Or the asteroid belt is believed to be the remains of a planet that was destroyed by a meteor shower or war.

Phil, this really sounds like a case of going to a whole lot of trouble to rationalize something that you are having trouble believing. It could have happened the way you describe. Would that make the creation story more believable for you? What other rationalizations are you going to add to make yourself able to believe that all of the Bible stories are literally true?
Is it perhaps enough to suppose that the Bible was at one time the state of the art of the thinking of spiritually wise people? That lets me find wisdom in it without trying to force the whole thing to be scientifically true.
Because some of the other math problems in the Bible are going to give you real headaches and then you'll have to say that some perfectly well-functioning calculators are evil tools of Satan because they don't add the numbers up the way the book says they're supposed to.
It's not a science book. It's a faith book.

A day in human time is not the same as a day to God. It says this many places in the Bible. Also, there was not earthly time until the 4th day of creation, the sun and moon/stars, which divides earthly days, so the other days could have been days in gods time.

Realize friend that God is eternal... how long would a day be to someone who does not live in a "timetable"..... one example that the word gives us for a measurment of time with God is
2Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
This simply shows us that a "day" for God is a very long time for man... it dosnt say a day with the Lord IS a thousand years.... it said its "as" a thousand years.... showing that this is not a literal measurement but an example to lead us to understand that what is a short time for God is a very long time for man.
God bless you and continue to study.... you will be amazed what he will show you :)

its a possibilty of course but in my opinion i think that its better to believe that it was created in seven actual days because as soon as you start thinking that maybe its off then you think about what else might be off. i don't think we should worry about things like that though. the mere fact that God created the world is enough for me

I can't recall where it says it but
1 day to us is 1,000 years to GOD.
so it took 7,000 years to create the universe in GOD's time.
Remember he said heavens so that means the planets aka universe.

actually, it says in the Bible that a day to God is like a thousand years. so, it's not inconceivable that the 6 "days" were actually 6000 years.

If God says it was a day, I'll take it literally to mean 24 hrs. One day.

Why not!
The word DAY is translated from the Hebrew YOM.
That, strictly speaking, really just means TIME.
The first Yom,
The second Yom,
The third Yom......................
The old old translators just deemed to use our word DAY.

It wouldn't support life if it started out revolving slowly... the laws of nature haven't changed... they remain constant
