Severe stress can cause the stress steroid blood hormone cortisol to go through the roof. There are other biochemical changes that attend extreme stress. The coctail can send the immune system into hyperdrive causing immune overshoot, (over reaction) or/and hypersensitivity, such as recognising self (autologous) protein markers as foreign and raising antibodies to them. For instance cartilege proteins and glycoproteins. This propostion becomes a lot more plausable when you witness (treat) someone who is going into anaphilactic shock because of peanut antigens or sulfite salts. The immune system is a potentially very powerful system and stress can affect it in dramatic ways. Relaxation therapy is one of the treatments for some arthritis patients.

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.

If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.

Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.

And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.

I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.

It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.

Today, I want to do the same for you!

I have RA too, according to an Arthritis Specialist. However, my hormones doctor told me that swollen joins could be caused by imbalanced hormones hence I can agree with the lost of a Love One statement as your hormones may change with the change of your life style and mind status.

I completely agree with Sam, answer #2
although whenever your mind is not straight, (stress, depression, etc) that alone can lead to other physical ailments. Its too general.

I would also disagree, because it is an immunological mediated disease and is not associated with life stressors
