Twenty years ago I was refurbishing an old Soda Fountain with made it's own soda water. When we were done, we installed it in the business, but forgot to replace the anti-back flow valve. When we came in the next the, everyone in the business was talking about how the toilet water tingled. Overnight, the back pressure had carbonized all the water in the buildings pipes. It made flushing the toilet a whole new experience.

I think it could be club soda, I have had sparkling water and in my opinion it was similar to club soda. And club soda has no taste.
