I had to move in with my parents and a sibling. I can't work because I am disabled with severe ocd. Currently have an SSI claim pending. However living with my parents is so stressful. I should count my blessings..... but with all the chaos that comes with living with my parents/sibling and being solely dependent on them..... the stress outways the benefits at times. No matter what I do they don't see that I am trying to help myself. Sometimes wonder if being homeless would be better than my current situation.

I can relate somewhat. I am living back with my father and crazy stepmother and i have anxiety. What ive found that helps me is meditation. I dont konw if its something youve thought about looking into, and some people say they would feel silly doing it but it really does help. Im not saying sit in the lotus position and say "OOHHHMMM" over and over. What i do is tell everyone i will be busy for 30 mins or so and im not to be bothered. Or say your working on something that needs full concentration (which is true). I put on some relaxing music (preferably without words so you can concentrate more) and i sit on my bed and think and relax. I start off thinking about everything that bothers me or has gotten to me and i let it go. I replace those feelings (whether it be fear, anxiety, anger, stress) with happy feelings. Like something im exciting about that coming up. how i felt when something really good happened to me. Anything at all that makes me feel happy. And it really does help.

Trust me, you would not want to be homeless. Too many mentally ill people are homeless because they have no other options.

Can you take a walk during the day, to help you get some exercise and fresh air? Also, listening to music (with headphones) is another way to relax. I find writing very soothing. When you start to think of your blessings, you will feel better. You could learn yoga or meditation. Once you decide on a plan, you will reduce your stress in and of itself. Best wishes.

Let go. let go of everything; even the things you do compulsively. You'd be happier.
