heck no! that's what i got and i love mine! i use them all the time. I think he'll be VERY happy with luggage, just make sure you get a nice set that will hold up well with traveling and what not. those 99 dollar sets are crap, spend a little extra money and get him something that will last for a long time.

I got luggage for graduation and took it for what it was...permission to go see the world (and the fact that my parents had the faith in me that I could do it). They also made perfectly sure the luggage had our home address on it--so I'd always know where I could come home to.

Make sure your son knows you're giving him wings--but will always be there when he wants to come back home. :)

Luggage is a traditional graduation present. It is perfectly appropriate, and something that will be used and appreciated someday, if not right away.

well not really, but are u trying to send him some kind of mesage ...like move out now... because maybe then its not a good idea, but I guess its okay if its something he really needs and if he isnt expecting something else, then go for it. =) Good luck!
