If you look at the universe, or things around you, from a distance you can say
it was not created. But the closer look you take at things the more obvious it becomes that creation is a reality.

what's the obvious that's being ignored?

No, as an atheist I say show me the proof. There is way more proof of evoloution than there is of creationsim. Creationism, the idea comes from a book that an ordinaryt man could have wrote. We can't know because we wern't there. I really think religion was just a way to explain stuff that people didn't know back then, but now that it has been around for so long, the ideas just cling on even though we do know more facts. Telling me to believe in creationism is like telling me that there is a Godzilla in Russia killing millions of people.

If there were anything obvious about creation via God or nature, then these discussions wouldn't be necessary.

The only thing obvious to me is that if we are made in the image of anyone, then that someone must be pretty impertinent, silly and insipid. I mean COME ON. How could we look like God? Is he bipedal? Does he need two eyes? An organic brain? The answer is that every piece of a human is utterly ridiculous and and our souls and comprehension are so pitiful. If we are in the image of God then, what does that say about God? How, how, how does that make any sense!?

Yes. It's very funny. HEE-hee-he-hee! Ha-ha hahahahaha! Hoo-wee!AHHHhhahahah!Hack!Ah-HMM!Haaaackk!Ulp!Ahem...
Living things grow. That seems obvious to me. Strong living things tend to survive. I'm still firmly in the obvious. Living things that survive might get to reproduce. Now I'm being naughty.
Children tend to look like little copies of their parents. Not just one parent, but some features from Mom and some features from Dad. Now I'm being too realistic. It isn't PC to make adopted people feel left out.
Have you ever looked at a seed from a maple tree and noticed how it looks a lot like a different version of a tadpole? And then looked at a tadpole and noticed that it looks like an overgrown sperm cell? Now I'm just being vulgar. You don't want to look at any of those things. You want to look into a nice, clean, 3000 year old book and see all the answers. Science, schmience!
So why are you looking for answers here? Everything that you are and everything that you ever were and everything that you ever will be was created by God exactly the way it is. Growing is a myth. Especially when it comes to growing in knowledge and intelligence. It's a total myth created by scientists to make us feel like our lives have purpose, that our highest development as human beings is somehow important.
There is no growth or development. We are exactly the same as our most ancient ancestors, just better dressed.
Hee-hee! Haaa-haw haw haw haaa! Whheeeeee! Hehehehehahahaha! Ack!Urp.

If you wish to believe that, that's fine, but there is absolutely nothing obvious to others in what you see as obvious and am I stupid for disagreeing with you? Awe and wonder do not constitute any kind of proof of anything. The confidence with which you speak of the way you see things sounds more than just a little arrogant, as if you're saying "Why can't you dummies see it the way I do?"

And lo, under the laser microscope the scientist saw the tiny tag which read: "made by GAWWWWD"

Nice piece, DUCKPHUP, a bit wordy but it's basically a REAL serious form of what I said. Good research.

Now that i've had some sleep it seems obvious to me that the question asker isn't actually an advocate for creationism, but has put this out here for us to do exactly what we did. it was cheap and i feel Used. Thanx.

What part of creationism is obvious to the logical human mind?

To believe in creationism, would require a great deal of "blind faith"....it is not an obvious logical choice for most of us.

People lucky enough to have the faith and to fully understand creationism, could consider having some patience with those of us who are not as enlightened as yourself.

The foolishness that serves you as a substitute for knowledge and reason is a logical fallacy (a flaw in thinking) known as the "Argument From Incredulity"... which is a sub-category of the "Argumentum ad Ignorantiam" (Argument From Ignorance). It goes something like this: "I can't conceive of how this might have come to be; therefore, God did it."

That does not point to a limitation of nature... rather, it exemplifies a limitation of knowledge and/or intellect. Also, it is intellectually dishonest, since it does not (as scientists do) ACKNOWLEDGE the limitation of knowledge and/or intellect... it merely invokes the fanciful idea of a supernatural creator-entity to manifest the ILLUSION that your ideations map to reality.

'Faith' (wishful, magical thinking) is a substitute for evidence.

'Belief' (the internalized 'certainty' that you are privy to the 'truth' pertaining to some fundamental aspect of existence and/or reality) is a substitute for knowledge.

faith + belief = self-delusion and willful ignorance

If it was obvious there wouldn't be a problem. Are you saying it's obvious like "air," "gravity," "round earth?" If it's so complicated that no one can examine and quantify it perfectly, how does that translate into "supreme being?" A better explanation is chaos theory: it's so complicated no one will ever be able to figure it out exactly, but overall we can make educated guesses, like evolution.

What is the obvious regarding Creationism? I mean besides all those million year old fossils that prove evolution?

I would like to know what's obvious about creationism also. It seems obvious to me that evolution has happenned and the creationists are putting on the blinders.
