I have a container of chocolate icing in my cupboard that is three months past its due date. The seal isn't broken, is it still good to use? Please hurry, the cake is almost baked.

Three months is kind of a long time to go I think, but you never know with all of the preservatives in things nowadays. Open and give it a stir. I myself wouldn't risk. (Unless you were baking the cake for someone you didn't like that much, hee hee) I made my own icing once, a bit of butter, icing sugar and hot chocolate mix, it worked in a pinch. P.S. I like your logo bc grown, whereabouts in bc?

If it were just a few days past the due date, I wouldn't worry too much. Three months, and I'd be concerned. Bacteria can multiply at a tremendous rate and you could get really sick if you eat it once it turns bad.

No, the ingredients and the preservative have broken down by the expiration date. It is not worth you getting sick from food poisoning.
