There were slaves way back in Egyptian days and probably before that so who knows whose guess would be the most accurate. Slavery has unfortunately existed for at least 4000 - 5000 years or more.

From my limited research it is not possible to determine when "slavery" began. Certainly it was being carried out be the Greeks over 3000 years ago when slaves were worked to death in mines. Pope Gregory asked who slaves were from "Anglia" - England and said that they were "Angels". In more modern times black Africans sold slaves to white traders - these were shipped to the west indies and the U.S. In the film "Gladiator" we witness Maximus being taken into slavery by slave traders. This kind of activity took place in East Africa by Arab slave traders until comparatively modern times. Slavery or something akin to it still occurs in Arab countries and there is a centre that specializes in receiving slave women who have escaped from their Arab masters in Kensington Square London W8 to this day.

I don't know when but I know white men started slavery in Africa. They traded women for strong africans who could work.

slavery has already existing everisnce the fall of troy and the development of greece's city states. so imagine how ancient slavery is and how true it is until now.

the slave-trade precipitated in africa, europe, and the middle east sometime in the 15th and 16th century.
