When I hear people discussing religion, it seems that the Torah, Koran, and Holy Bible are the three main texts discussed. Are there any other texts that religions are founded on? Or are they the three most important?

Of course other religions also have their own texts to read.

Buddhists, Sihks, Hindies, Gnostics, Pagans, and Farsis all have their own books.

Interesting question and yes there are more!!! In fact today in Church the Guest speaker actually said their are over 26 different Books each based on Religion. The one I reccomend is a good Translation of THE BiBLE like New King James or THE NEW Living Translation which has words that are more commonly used and Put together in Today's World.

You can read sacred texts from various religions online at:

These are some that I find interesting
Guru Granth Sahib - Sikh

Zend Avesta - Zoroastrian

Hindu sacred texts include a diverse array of hymns, epics, and ritual and social instructions, among other elements. Hindu sacred texts fall into one of two categories: sruti ("heard") or smruti ("remembered"). Sruti scriptures are considered divinely inspired and fully authoritative for belief and practice, while smruti are recognized as the products of the minds of the great sages.

However, smruti texts often carry almost as much authority as sruti, and the religion of the older sruti texts bears little resemblence to modern Hinduism and is largely unknown to the average Hindu. Nevertheless, the sruti are still held in very high regard and portions are still memorized for religious merit. The only texts regarded as sruti are the Vedas, which include both ancient sacrificial formulas and the more philosophical Upanishads.

The Torah, Koran, and Bible are not more important than other religious writings... they are getting a lot of attention right now because the people who claim to live by them--that would be the children of the God of Abraham--are all busy trying to kill each other in God's name at the moment.

They are the most important for the "3" main religions and all the sects of those religions. But there are many others: The Book of Mormon, the Bhagavad-gita, Sayings of Confucious, THe Prose Edda...

Many other Books or Tablets of Teachings of other faiths.

The Quaran has NO SUBSTANTIATING DOCUMENTS AT ALL!
All were intentionally destroyed.

The Ancient Scrolls are still being found (Dead Sea Scrolls etc.) to prove the authenticity of the Old Testament.
Many Scrolls and tablets are still being found to prove the New Testament information.
