No it was not a drug conviction. Or a viloent or sex crime. I was stupid and took some papers that did not belong to me.

Talk to your PO and get their opinion on this.

You can come and stay a short time on your Tourist Passport. You CANNOT live with him legally....if he is not married, he will have to stay in Barracks. You have to have proof that you are married in order for him to get Quarters and you will also have to be Command Sponsored. You will have to pay for your own Tourist Passport....

You say he leaves in 6 months? Well, with the way things are over here...with the Base Closures...those Plans could change. He may have them changed to where he goes somewhere other than here in Germany. Also, it is not a good idea to come at the same time as he....he could easily get to a Unit that will be Deploying almost as soon as he arrives. Then, where would you be? In a strange Country not knowing the language AND spending money for a Gasthaus because you are not married and can't live in Gov't Quarters.

"If I where to get married to a woman in Germany then join the military would I be stationed in germany? or would she be moved and stationed wherever I was?" She would be moved and stationed wherever you were. "Also If I married her after I joined the military what are the odds of me being stationed there in germany with her?" A "chance" (over a 20-year career) but the odds are not in your favor. Even assuming you managed it you would probably only be stationed there 4 - years. Most people also aren't lucky enough to get an overseas assignment during there 1st four years (Afghanistan / Iraq doesn't count).

Until you are married, you will only be a tourist in Germany. He won't be authorized additional funding to live off post (unless he's an officer), nor will he be authorized additional funding for you as his dependent. As a tourist in Germany, you may remain for 3 months, then you have to leave the country, unless you get a job. If you get a job on the German economy, you will need to speak German. You could always try the PX, but...

You can do nothing. The Military won't give you an overseas sponsorship until you are married to him. No sponsorship? Then you are on your own, you will need to get residence papers with the host government, and you won't have access to any kind of military service at the same level as a sponsored family member.

The key word here is sponsorship. No sponsorship? Then basically they don't want you over there.

You can visit on your own if you like. In order for you to live with him and be moved by the military along with him, you will have to be married. And no, you cannot just say that you are married and expect them to believe you. Other than that, you will have to cover all of your own expenses in moving. Just keep in mind, you will not be able to throw your stuff along with his when it gets moved - depending on rank and dependents, active duty is allowed a certain weight limit for their goods.

you may not live with him or be allowed to stay in Germany unless you are married. You would be able to visit, for however long the Germans allow tourists to visit. he would have to escort you everywhere on base, you would not be allowed on base without him, or overnight.

If you are wanting to accompany him, you will have to be married. You may not even be able to get on base if you aren't his spouse. Make sure you contact your probation officer and get permission.
