If his story sounds credible, would you support him? Would you assume he's a rapist and leave him? What if the accuser is one of your friends?

For those who believe she should leave him, does this mean, if a man is falsely accused of rape (but did nothing wrong) then no girl should ever be in a relationship with him again, even though he's the victim?

This is just a hypothetical question. I'm just asking because I know of men who were falsely accused.

How well do you know your boyfriend?

I have been in the exact situation before and I knew the man extremely well. I also knew the accuser. I stood by my man through it all and it all turned out the way it was supposed to....him innocent and her in $h1t for making false accusations.

Stay very calm and ask him if he did it. Can you tell if he tries to lie to you? How about the accuser? Can you think of any reason, as small as it may be, that she would feel the need to ruin his life?

You need to trust your heart in this situation. If you feel he is innocent then stand by him through it all. He needs all the support he can get. Good luck :)

Find out if he was accused or convicted. That will make the difference.

If his story is credible and you believe him, look into her story and past behaviour a bit more.

I would stay with him if you were both happy in the relationship, put this behind you. If your friend is a true friend and the accusations are wrong she will get over her issues and come round again - if you still wanted to be friends.

Well, if my boyfriend were to have approached me and told me something like this, it's already showing courage on his part to face me so I would at least set aside the time to think about from all angles before taking any actions. Most importantly, I would like to know who the girl is and figure out if she's the type of girl she is. If the accuser is one of my friends, it depends how long I have known him/her (come on, guys, it can be a him too you know). Of course, if I'm very close to that friend, then the guy is out the door. If it's for a relatively short time, then it'll be easier to figure out the type of person she is. Then, I'll have to rewind all the times that my boyfriend and I shared together and see if there was any warning signs that he is a liar, etc.

For a girl to accuse a guy of rape, it's a hard thing to do. And I don't think most normal girls would say this if it wasn't true. I defended a guy in the same situation once, only to find out that he really did it! Be cautious & don't assume he's innocent!

I would check into his story and really find out what is going on. It could be the other way around and he could be confessing the truth or a lie. Regardless what the outlook here is, once you check things out, then you will know what to do from there, even though one of your friends may be involved.

Actually I did experience this earlier this year. At first I believed him, but over time things just did not add up. When I took all things into account, and his behavior, I realized he was an abusive person who never takes responsibility for his actions. He's back in jail where he belongs.

Also, one of my friends is, and I support him because he, unlike my ex, took responsibility for his actions and regrets his wrong doing.

Well, most girls wouldn't use that much time to just falsely accused a guy that rape them unless they are rich in most cases.. But I think that you should listen to one of your friends because she wouldn't lie to you........ I suggest you give him time to think about the trial and leave him....

Depends on how deep your relationship is. You probably at this point need to get away from everyone involved because this situation could get you in deeper than you expected.

Find out exactly what happened. As in facts, not perspectives. Talk to your friend, see how much of it corresponds or clashes with what he says. Whom do you trust more to tell you the truth?
