Oh, yes. I am in a relationship with the King of Insensitivity. He once complimented me on my intelligence, and I made a joke about how I thought guys only liked dumb girls. Well, he proceeded to say, "No, I've been hit on by girls who were a lot more attractive than you are, and I said thanks but no thanks 'cause they weren't very smart." That comment burned me for days, so I know exactly where you're coming from. Thing is, most guys don't really think about how stuff will sound before they say it. And in his own way, your guy was trying to give you a compliment. He loves you, you love him . . . just shake your head in exasperation and look forward to your wedding.

you need to say it like this,

If were going to get married you need to knock this crap off, the comments your making have nothing to do with our future relationship, tell \

you'll get his attention,
unless you can have this type of a conversation now, your marriage will never work
