We can't.
There will never be world peace because of vast differences.

We can't solve the problems of the world?
Yes I know it is expected for the USA to save the world from its self.
All the while being hated by the very people wanting the USA to save them
Differences make the world go around
so there will never be any agreement
or the world would stop and we all would fall off
Just think how Lilly liveried everyone would be
if everyone agreed everything
There would be no freedom of speech and thought if we all had to agree
BORING

That's the problem..expecting all the world's problems to be solved somehow. People who think that are living in a fantasy world. Wars and attacking others have been going on since the beginning of time. Unfortunately, it's human nature and I don't think it's going to change anytime soon. So, until that time, I want to be the baddest dog on the block so maybe I'll be left alone. I'm not going to play nice with those who are trying to kill me. My liberal friends think we should all sit by the campfire and sing Kum By Ya... sweet but not realistic.

Hello.
I agree with you in the sense that solving the problems that this world has is much much much more difficult when humanity as a whole isn't able to agree.
But unfortunately, there isn't really any other option! Without taking away human and natural rights, of course.
And also, in one way people not being able to agree simply makes the eventual outcome of whatever is being disagreed on the better one. As people argue and debate, the solution on each side gets better and better.
So to answer the question directly, the problems in our world will be solved when everyone commits themselves to debating about them and trying to make small parts of the problems solved, over and over again. You can't expect all of the problems to be solvable all at once, but you can expect them to be solved eventually.
And this is to be accomplished by people talking about the problems in the world in the public arena, in their private homes, and with their friends and with their family and with strangers. If people become aware of the problems, and then strive towards finding the best solution to the problems, things will end up being solved whether people disagree with each other or not!
Of course this is only true to an extent. Authorities of nations and cities and states need to make sure that nothing like riots or something similar to that occur. This will end up solving all problems as long as the disagreements don't get out of control.
...To sum this all up: Problems in our world will be solved BECAUSE of people not agreeing on anything. As long as the disagreeing isn't to hectic, things will sort itself out if we do not forget to be aware of and try to advocate for solving solutions, whether people agree with the solutions being advocated for or not.
edit: Heh, I just realized that I kind of answered this in a big-picture kind of way, instead of limiting the answer to immigration. Oh well. Hopefully it's helpful :)

I think the disagreeing is not the problem. The fact that nobody can be civil during a disagreement is the real problem. When leaders can come to the table without threatening to blow each other off the map then we will have made a good start.

I don't expect that we will solve the problems in the world. We haven't in the last three or four thousand years, I doubt that we will in the near future.

There is a delicate balance of yin and yang that the world must keep.
For example, we cannot have peace without knowing war.
If I agreed with you on everything, and my friend, and her friend...well, we would be one boring world. Until we have a unified world with unified governments, military, law enforcement, and moral standards, we will always disagree.
And I DO agree with one post above....if we were CIVIL about our disagreements, a heck of a lot more would get done.

Actually, the best shot for solving anything involves people disagreeing with each other. The trick is entirely in how the disagreements are resolved.

We may never solve the worlds problems, but we can remove illegals and reclaim our stolen identities.
It's the criminal element I despise...don't you just hate it when people break the law...who do they think they are, Bill Clinton?

we can expect them to be solved by simply doing just that, expecting them to be solved.
If you don't agree, perhaps i should shoot you?
this question won't get resolved (your problem) if you can't agree with me. Get it? Got it? Good.

We have to learn to live our lives based on what we believe. There will always be differences in this world...it's how we address them that matters. You cannot change people who aren't willing to change, you just learn to live around them, so to speak.
