When can I come visit?
This way of life is not missing in parts of the US, either. New England is known for its relatively low church attendance. The same is true for many other sections of the country. At the same time, there are many parts of the country that church membership is assumed.
How are the other sources of conflict: social status & stigma; racism; sexism; homophobia? Denmark is reputed to be extremely tolerant, but I was curious how these sources of friction are dealt with in a country that lives largely without faith.

God's favor rested on Europe for centuries because they were the champions and promoters of the Gospel. They honored God with supreme reverence, building churches at the center of every major city and town. That will begin (and has, indeed, begun) to change as Europe rejects Him and begins to get puffed up in arrogance, assuming that what was the blessing of God is a result of some inherent superiority. Europe (and Denmark, in particular) is not without hope. Scripture and history assures us that the blessing and Presence of God will always return upon repentance for sin and submission to God.

It is what happens when secularism has gone amuck. It is sad and it will bury the Western Civilization. It is sadder than one can imagine for in the end we all will answer our part in this destruction of Christianity. What you write I had heard, but never from a Dane, and I am indeed saddened by it. But, it is the choice of each individual and in this case the collective country to forsake a religious identity of any sort, God gave you all FREE WILL, and he gave you right and wrong, so...like I said, in the final analysis, one will be held accountable.

It sounds like your country is more educated than most in free thinking. However, to be religious has a different meaning than religion, which is an attempt to organize truth, a contradiction in terms. I would be surprised if there weren't many who were religious yet did not go to church. True?

i wonder if its a coincedence that denmark, which has such a low church attendance, is also the one who arguably did the most to help the jews during the holocaust. whereas all other "christian" nations twiddled their thumbs and were secretly glad that hitler was killing us, the king of denmark actually stepped up and secretly shipped as many jews out of denmark to neutral territory as he possibly could in the time he had. G-d bless denmark forever.

I would guess that Denmark has less of a diversity of people than say. . .The United States of America.
Asking someone's religion doesn't exactly engage in interesting conversation over there, does it?
Love Legos though!!!

I think it is great and that it eliminates a lot of social problems. People are not judged on religious values because everyone assumes everyone is not religious, and if you are part of the 5% that is you can worship in peace.

well I think it is sad....just because there is alot of negative talk on here about religion doesn't mean it is all bad...there is something to be said for one having a religion....peace and comfort for the hard times.....I cant imagine living in an area that is basically void of religion.....it must really be hard not having it in your life.....
are you religious at all.....what do you believe in?

And no religion too! Imagine!
------------
Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people living for today...
Imagine there's no countries.
It isn't hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one,
I hope someday you'll join us,
and the World will be one....................
