why do christians always say that the bible is true? The only proof of it is that it is "The Word of God" but the only place that says the bible is the word of god is in the bible.
If i say that everything i say is the truth. and then claim to be god does it make me god?
so there's no proof in saying it's the word of god... stop using it!

Faith is based not on sight but on a simple belief in the fact that Jesus was in fact the only one who was born died and resurrected.

Cassius Clay said he was "The Greatest", and many people still believe that for no good reason. There are many contradictions in the Bible. I took Bible History in college and learned about some of them then. A book Billy Graham gave me lists some Bible contradictions and tries to explain them, but that's not convincing. I find some just about any time I look in the Bible, for it is filled with them. Judas is said to've died by hanging and also by falling. He didn't die twice. There are many scientific inaccuracies in the Bible as well. It says pi is 3, but it's 3.14159... If I used the Bible in engineering work, I'd be fired. There is no evidence of a world flood, and Noah's Ark couldn't hold examples of the 3,000,000+ animal species that exist now or in Noah's time...that had to be 2400 BC or so according to some Bible scholars. If the Bible is the word of God, he is pathetically ignorant.

Now now, hold you temper. Some people and a great number of Christians do take the Bible literally and therefore everything in the Bible is true. However, there are those of us that take the Bible as an inspired word of God. Tis the Spirit that makes pure the thoughts which have been written upon the ancient scrolls and interpreted by men, with a divine hand in the golden thread that weaves in an out of the scared texts.

Just because it is. It's God's handbook to His creation (us).
It tells us how life began, what happened then, what will
happen later (predictions from Old Testament have already
been fulfilled in the New Testament; some have not yet been),
and how it will end. Christ is the only one I know of that died
for my sins, and then rose from the dead. How much proof
do you need? How many do you know that have risen from
the dead and walked around afterward on earth for at least
40 days with many witnesses to that?? The Dead Sea Scrolls
are a witness to the authenticity of scripture, how old it is, and
how it has been preserved. I'll never stop saying "it is indeed
the Word of God". You will just have to lump it, if you don't like it.

Logically, every document in the world, dating from way back to the first century up to modern times claims that something or other is true. Of course, that does not prove them to be true, but neither does it prove them to be FALSE. How do we know what to believe?

For centuries, people have relied on having faith in SOMEthing or having no faith at all, just winging it and taking chances. So, logically it is our faith that it is true, not whether God of man claims it to be true.

The history books say that Edison invented the light bulb, how do we prove that? How do we know we even excist, are we all some sort of Neo character, caught in a matrix or predestined for nothing? In that case, could it be true that nothing is true? I don't mean to seem pushy and rude, but if you ask this kind of question, you are going to be advised to look deep into the history books and find out what is true. And beyond that, you will just have to choose your own way.

You see it is a spiritual thing ...Jesus said he would send back the Holy Ghost to teach us all things and bring all things back to our rememberance that which Christ spoke...and the Holy ghost is our comforter..this is all the evidence you need ...The Holy Ghost will not allow us as Christians to use anything not of God..

If you are a spirit filled bible believing christian..the spirit of God will pull your chain..when trying to use unauthorized material...And while we are speaking of the Holy Ghost ...understand that NO Christian is allowed to have a private interpretation....it is the Holy Ghost who gives us the meaning...and He does it out of the word..which happens to be..the longest running book in the world..the King James version...if you will tolerate some verses from the bible ...which ..i'm sorry ..is our foundation..it is like what we stand on...how can you expect us not to answer from it...If we are following the example of Jesus...in which Jesus stood his ground with the biggest enemy...of our souls the devil..and he did soemthing we all do as christians...he answered by the scriptures..and He did so with the answer "it is written"...so you want us to do something different than Jesus??

It is kind of backwards..because the world looks for a man to be a right example ...then when christians do...people get mad for us quoting scriptures...I don't get it..but

Here is the bible scriptures..you need to read:

Jeremiah 33:20-21 Thus saith the Lord; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
21. Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant,

Ecclesiastes 3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
Matthew 5:17-18 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Revelations 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

The point being God is Alpha and Omega ..beginning and end of all things..AND God knew what men would say concerning His word...remember 2 things...we have night and day for one reason..men did not and cannot change Gods word...We exist today...because Gods word cannot and has not been change...since Jesus said heaven and earth will pass away...before his word will..we exist because it exists and has not been changed...hope that says something to you..if it doesn't ..you are treading dangerous ground...God bless

When you prophesy and those prophesies come to pass, you perform miracles and those miracles are historically recorded, you give reason to the illogical, and convince me and billions of others that you are God...

No, I won't believe you are God and you writing it in a book and stating it as fact will not convince me that you are God... because you are not.
