Just do exactly that, Just go up and say, " can i eat at your table, then find some way to start up a conversation. i've done it myself.
The worst she can say is no, but the posibiltyif she's looked at you and you've looked at her for her to say no is really low.

pay attention 2 what she eats all the time next time u try and get her something sweet like a candy of some sort and then be real cheezy , tell her u have 2 have something that reminds u of her , and she will b like wow that was lame, and u tell her u had another line ,like hi can we have lunch 2gther but u figured she hears that all the time so u had 2 take a chance,it will work plus what girl doesnt like candy and dont say a diabetic, cuz we eat candy also.

Simplest thing to do is approach her and ask her if you can eat with her. When I was a freshman in college I would eat lunch alone cause none of my friends had the same schedule and so I had guys approach me and ask to join me. Unless I was about to leave I would generally say yes. Couldn't hurt to give it a shot!
