there are such things as a DNA kit available from AKC and at some veterinary clinics. YOu can talk to your vet and ask them to run a DNA test. It takes about a week or two depending on the person/lab/dog. The results will say the closest breeds that contain the DNA found in his DNA. You could also order it from AKC and ask them to do it but they prefer the use for pure bred dogs or possible pure bred dogs.

Get a book or go to a vet. I think going to a dog expert would be the best way to tell.

Why worry about such trivial things, just make sure that he's loved and his health is good. and if anyone asks about his breed, say he's a mixed breed

Does it even matter? If you love your dog and he/she loves you that's all that matters. I have two mutts that we got from rescue groups and they are awesome.

Blood test at a vet clinic should clear it up.
