They seem quite willing. Funny thing, the other day on Y!A, a self-proclaimed atheist said she believes in aliens because "the universe is so big, anything can happen!"

I got a kick out of that.

1. A soul is the construction of religion. IE: It is not real.
2. There is no reason to make such a bet. I need evidence first.
3. I have spent most of my life helping others. If that is not the type of person that gets to go to heaven then I will got to hell with all the good people.

Yes of course. I won't say the possibility of some kind of God is zero (just infinitesimal), and I won't say the possiblity of some kind of judgement day after death is zero (just infinitesimal^2). But assuming that actually happens, the probability that God is the jealous, petty, vengeful god of the Hebrew Bible and will damn me for all eternity for my logical conclusion that the Hebrew Bible is myth is again infinitesimal. If against all odds I do end up in judgement before a God, I'll bet the God is much more wise and compassionate than you are, and will judge me for how I treated others, and not for rejecting what seems to me to be the myths of fearful desert nomads living 3000 years ago.

Are you willing to waste your one and only life here and bet your eternal soul to torment in hell if it turns out that you chose the wrong religion? Pascal's wager is a totally bogus argument.

Can anyone explain to me why an atheist has to torment in hell simply by being an atheist? What if someone never had a chance to be taught any religion, let alone Christianity. You mean that person has to burn in hell due to the fact your God never gave that person a chance to learn about Him?

Is a christian willing to go to a muslim hell? Is a catholic willing to go to a mormon hell? I won;t go hell, even though I am an athiest. I know, as much as you know there is a heaven and hell, that there is no such thing as heaven and hell. Oh damn, we are both right, or are we both wrong. No one trully knows. Faith is not a fountain of truth, it only gives you purpose and reason where I find purpose and reason in other areas of life. So, what?

Saying you believe just because if you're wrong nothing happens and if you're right then you go to heaven doesn't really seem like true belief. I think if your god existed he would be smart enough to see through that. Give the guy a little credit if you're gonna devote your life to him, geez.

As an athiest - I'm taking my best bet. Many religions place those of other faiths directly into Hell but send nice (virtuous, whatever) never-chosen-a-religion types into something not so bad.

I would infer from your question that one might place their faith in whatever deity in order to hedge their possible entry into hell.

Should I be proved wrong, any god that wouldn't accept a good and decent person such as myself isn't worth my faith to begin with.

Paschal's Wager. Too bad. No soul to wager. I'll bet the button in my pocket! Take the bet?

They probably are willing since they are simply empty husks devoid of soul.
